The Top Selling Bra Size Is…

Nov 4, 2011 @ 5:20 pm

What’s the most popular bra size to buy online? We asked the experts behind online bra retailer barenecessities.com to find out, as the company celebrated selling 5 million bras this week. “We offer bras in 260 different sizes, and our top-selling bra size is 36C,” the site’s founders Noah Wrubel and Bill Richardson told InStyle.com. So, how many bras is that exactly? About 260,000 since the site started 13 years ago. “Our best-selling bra size only represents five percent of our total bra sales, which really speaks to the diversity of women’s bra sizes.” And while Wrubel and Richardson noted that the average bra size in America is 36DD, the 36C remains a popular choice—Bare Necessities sell around 200 bras in that size per day. Kenneth Cole Designed a New Red AIDS Ribbon

Nov 4, 2011 @ 4:15 pm

Project Accessory judge and amfAR Chairman Kenneth Cole gave the classic red AIDS ribbon a makeover. The designer created the reinterpretation, shown, to commemorate the discovery of the virus 30 years ago. The double-loop symbolizes a new generation of people coming together to show support, and is just one of the efforts behind the cause’s new “Coming Together” campaign. The ribbons are available starting today on kennethcole.com for $5 each, and 100% of the net profits will be donated to the MTV Staying Alive Foundation and amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research. Sexy Fall Hair Idea: The Soft Top Knot!

Nov 4, 2011 @ 3:15 pm

Good news beauty mavens! Soft, textured top knots—one of the season’s hottest red carpet looks as proven by Eva Longoria, Whitney Port, Jennifer Lopez and Elizabeth Olsenis one of the easiest trends to try yourself. “It’s a younger, fresher look than the traditional ballerina bun,” hairstylist Mark Townsend, who created Olsen’s version, told InStyle.com. “You don’t want a perfect circle on top of your head. You want an imperfect shape. Lizzie and I knew one side of her bun was higher than the other and that’s what we loved about it.” To try the look at home, Townsend suggests gathering your strands into a high ponytail and adding body with a blast of Oribe Dry Texturzing Spray ($39 at oribe.com). “Braiding the hair before twisting it around the base will also help keep it from looking too perfect,” he adds. First Look: Madonna’s Truth or Dare Perfume!

Nov 4, 2011 @ 2:30 pm

Madonna plans to launch her very own perfume in April, and this is a first look at what you can expect! The scent is named Truth or Dare, the same title she gave her forthcoming clothing collection, and is inspired by her mother. “I carry perfume with me everywhere, and my oldest memory of my mother is her perfume,” the singer told WWD. “She always smelled like gardenias and tuberose, an intoxicating mixture that was feminine and intoxicating. I wanted to recreate that scent, but with something fresh and new about it as well.” Shop it exclusively at Macy’s stores starting in April, and other nationwide retailers in May. Tell us: Will you wear the Material Girl’s fragrance?

True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten: Face of Mambo!

Nov 4, 2011 @ 1:10 pm

True Blood fans don’t necessarily associate actor Ryan Kwanten with clothes—in the role of town heartthrob Jason Stackhouse he spends much of his screen time sans threads. However, he loves them, as the native Australian signed up to be the face of Mambo for its North American debut in Bon-Ton stores. “Mambo has a sense of humor that I really relate to,” Kwanten tells InStyle.com of why he loves the surf and skate brand. As part of his gig, he will also create two designs for the label. “I’m giving myself some time to work them out,” he says. “It’s a matter of getting my imagination onto a T-shirt.” In the meantime, check out the Mambo line, which includes shirts, bags, hoodies, hats and more for $18 to $50, at bonton.com now.
