Hello, Miss Piggy! In celebration of her upcoming movie The Muppetsher first on-screen appearance in 12 years—the Notorious P.I.G. took a moment out of her busy schedule to pose for a photo shoot for InStyle’s November issue. Six designers created custom pieces for her, including Prabal Gurung (shown), Jason Wu, Brian AtwoodSuno, Opening Ceremony, and Giles & Brother. “Simply beautiful, yet deliciously exotic and enticingly romantic. Yes, I’m talking about myself—as well as this fabulous frock designed by my new BFF Prabal Gurung,” Miss P. says of this look. See all of her model moments in the November issue of InStyle, on newsstands Friday.

As Fat Heffalump has written in her blog, why are these designers designing fashion for a fat pig puppet before a fat woman?

“She looks fab right?

But aren’t designers always saying that they can’t design for fat bodies? Aren’t they always saying that scaling things for bodies outside of a sample size is too difficult, that when you change the proportions of bodies, the clothes don’t translate?”

“I think the real reason that many designers don’t design for fat women is simply because they are repulsed by us and don’t want their brand name associated with people that repulses them. I wish they’d have the guts to just say that.”

AMEN
