Footloose: Julianne Hough’s Red Boots Inspire New Designs

While Julianne Hough wears Frye kicks on the big screen as the millennial version of Ariel Moore, Twiggy and Matt Bernson both created new styles for their HSN lines in honor of the film. “My inspiration from the movie is a celebration of life and dance and trying to give a witty nod to Ariel’s iconic red boot,” Bernson tells InStyle.com, referencing the original 1984 Ariel actress Lori Singer. Yes! My inspiration came from a traditional Ukrainian Dance Group I spotted at a neighborhood street festival. I’ve had them for years and the soles have been repaired multiple times, I’m in desperate need of a replacement pair but so far I haven’t found any that compare. Although the Frye’s are pretty darn close.
