Runway Looks We Love: Louis Vuitton

Oct 5, 2011 @ 6:05 pm

Louis Vuitton turned the runway into a carousel for spring 2012! Creative director Marc Jacobs sent out pastel organza dresses, laser-cut lace tops and skirts, crocodile motorcycle jackets and tweed suits. The accessories lineup included pointy heels with mirrored cap toes, as well as the label’s signature bags done up in see-through fabrics and basket weave leather. Kate Moss closed the fashion merry-go-round in a voluminous eyelet dress dotted with feathers. See our favorite looks in the gallery.

Runway Looks We Love: Chanel

Oct 5, 2011 @ 4:15 pm

Chanel went under the sea for spring 2012! Creative director Karl Lagerfeld transformed the runway into an underwater wonderland, as he showed off Chanel suits and dresses done in every shade of the ocean, from white to aqua to pearl. The oyster gem also appeared on buttons, belts, and trim, and interpreted for swimwear as sexy white looks topped with plastic cover-ups. Even the accessories had a marine feel, with coral-covered bags and bracelets, iridescent sparkling clutches, and effortlessly chic flat sandals. Florence Welch closed the show with a theme-appropriate performance—she emerged from a clam on the catwalk. Runway Looks We Love: Yves Saint Laurent

Oct 5, 2011 @ 3:00 pm

The footwear at the spring 2012 Yves Saint Laurent show was one of the most exciting elements of the collection. Sky-high platforms covered in reflective gold plating and sexy slingbacks with jewel cluster details accessorized the outfits. When attention wasn’t directed downward, the lineup by creative director Stefano Pilati included chic day-to-night options like crisp white blouses paired with boldly printed maxi skirts. Strong colors like emerald and amethyst gave the designs a sense of sophistication, while black evening gowns sprinkled with gold beads brought the all-out glam factor.
