I Don’t Know How She Does It Movie: See the Style!

Sep 16, 2011 @ 7:25 pm

In Sarah Jessica Parker‘s new film I Don’t Know How She Does It, the actress plays Kate Reddy, a hedge fund manager trying her best to balance her family and her career. So when we caught up with Parker at the movie’s premiere, we had to get the inside scoop on how she does it all. “I approach every day as a fresh start with enormous possibilities and I muddle through,” she told InStyle.com exclusively. “I fall short every day, but you still have to get up and start the day with some promise and a little optimism.” Good advice!

Marc Jacobs’s Latest Collection: See the Photos!

Sep 16, 2011 @ 5:45 pm

Marc Jacobs‘ spring 2012 collection ended New York Fashion Week with a dose of theatrics. Golden lights above the show’s southern dance hall setting illuminated Jacobs’ luxe mix of cashmere, leather, polyester and plastic, along with reflective details like studs, metal eyelet and touches of tinsel organza. Pops of neon offset the mostly-neutral looks, while see-through cowboy boots, fringed leather bucket bags and tulle do-rags added the finishing touches. Click through the gallery to our favorite looks from Marc Jacobs’ latest collection!

Runway Looks We Love: Calvin Klein

Designer Francisco Costa’s collection for Calvin Klein can be summed up in two words: feminine minimalism. The streamlined lineup included dresses that could stay in your closet forever, in colors like gray, silver, nude, ivory, lilac, and blush. Wispy fabrics and intricate seams gave body-skimming slip dresses a little twist, while the use of sheer fabrics revealed hints of skin and sexy bras underneath. Versatile platform T-strap pumps in nude tones and black completed each outfit. Click through to see our favorite looks from Calvin Klein’s latest collection.

Runway Looks We Love: Ralph Lauren

Sep 16, 2011 @ 4:26 pm

Ralph Lauren’s spring 2012 collection was inspired by the flapper fashion of the Roaring ’20s. For day, Lauren showed boyish suiting in both long and short styles, and a soft palette of jade, robin’s egg blue, celadon, blush and ivory made the lineup feel light-as-air on the runway. Evening looks were full-on glamorous, exemplified by beaded gowns topped with ostrich feather capes. Patrica Underwood hats, towering raffia wedges, and delicate metallic sandals accessorized the collection. See our favorite looks from the latest Ralph Lauren fashion show in the gallery.

Celine Dion’s New Signature Perfume: Available Now!

Sep 16, 2011 @ 4:05 pm

Celine Dion’s latest fragrance—Signature by Celine Dion—just hit stores this week! “This scent is all about the relationship that I’ve been having with my fans for over 30 years,” the singer told InStyle.com exclusively. The result is a rich combination of floral notes, pink lady apples, and guava, mixed with Indian jasmine, musk, amberwood, and sandalwood. “It’s light, so it’s for any kind of girl at any age. This perfume isn’t a powerful statement; the power I leave to the person. We’ve got the power!” As for how to wear the fragrance, Dion has a smart suggestion: “Perfume is not the leader of your life, it accompanies you. It helps you accomplish what you’re going to do.” In other words, one spritz will do. Shop Signature by Celine Dion for $33.50 (1.7 oz.) at Kohl’s, Target, Sears, Walmart, and most major drugstores now.
