Runway Looks We Love: Marchesa

Marchesa’s glamorous Spring 2012 evening looks were inspired by an underwater fantasy. The show’s flapper-style looks were dripping in beaded strands reminiscent of jellyfish tentacles, as the sea creatures were a major reference point. The collection also included ethereal white gowns perfect for a walk down the aisle, while tulle, chiffon and colored mesh evening looks came in shades of curacao blue, pearl, and oyster. Having trouble purchasing Missoni for Target? You’re not alone! After the 400-piece collection finally made its way to Target.com, record-breaking crowds crashed the site. But good news—not everything is sold out! As of this posting, there are still quite a few womens’ looks, lingerie, kids’ clothes and hair accessories to go around. As for home goods, check back with the site and your local Target store—the retailer is slated to get periodic shipments of Missoni styles through October 22nd. Good luck!

Rich reds, crisp whites, pops of lime, lemon, and royal blue looked fresh on glamorous red carpet looks, chic suits, bohemian dresses, and body-skimming knits. Princess-worthy gowns in blush, ivory, and blue closed the show, and the hard-to-miss the accessories included shoulder-sweeping earrings and piled-on necklaces. For Spring 2012, Hervé Léger by Max Azria served up signature sexy styles with a modern twist. Metallic embroidery shot through the looks, in platinum, gold, and rose gold, and fluttery hemlines offered an unexpected addition to the label’s classic bandage dresses.
