How many times do you update your manicure in one night? If you’re Katy Perry, it’s no less than four polish changes! At Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, she switched her nails three times during the ceremony and once for the after-party, which kept her manicurist Kimmie Kyees working overtime. “Katy’s stylist sent me photos of the outfits she was planning to wear, and I started brainstorming ideas right away,” Kyees told InStyle.com exclusively. “I was so inspired by her dresses!” Click through the gallery to see Perry’s manicures up close, and get tips for how to re-create the look at home.

Princess Sophie’s Royal Wedding Dress Details

Princess Sophie of Isenburg wed Prince Georg Friedrich Ferdinand of Prussia outside of Potsdam, Germany this weekend. The bride wore an elaborate tiered dress by German designer Wolfgang Joop and accessorized her updo with a family heirloom diamond tiara. The groom chose a pink tie and tails for the ceremony. Jessica Simpson to Launch Diamond Jewelry for Zales!

Diamonds are Jessica Simpson’s best friend! Today, the singer and fashion mogul announced that she will launch a collection of diamond jewelry—rings, earrings, pendants, and bracelets included—with Zales. “Jewelry is a very personal expression that celebrates who you are and this collection is very much a reflection of who I am,” Simpson said in a statement. Dancing With the Stars: Meet the New Season 13 Cast!

ABC revealed the new contestants for Dancing With the Stars, and Season 13 is bound to be interesting! MTV reality star alum Kristin Cavallari is among the competitors, along with George Clooney’s Italian ex Elisabetta Canalis, soccer star Hope Solo, Chynna Phillips of Wilson Phillips, no-nonsense news host Nancy Grace, and talk show star Ricki Lake. The only male Kardashian, Rob, is on the roster, as well as actor David Arquette, basketballer Ron Artest, war veteran and motivational speaker J.R. Martinez, and fashion television host Carson Kressley. Cher’s child Chaz Bono, formerly known as Chastity, rounds out the competition. Watch their ballroom dancing and samba skills be put to the test when the show premieres September 19th at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Hair chameleon Katy Perry revealed her latest shade at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards—lavender! It’s the hue she and colorist Rita Hazan have been working on over the past few months, which explains Perry’s recent transformations from brunet to redhead to blond to pink. “It was such an exciting challenge to custom-create Katy’s colour for her big reveal at the VMAs,” Hazan said on her Facebook. “She is a colorist’s dream—always willing to take risks to achieve a groundbreaking look—and it was awesome to be able to realize this goal for her.” What do you think of the new color?
