Jul 6, 2011 @ 6:35 pmWhile only a handful of guests were invited to see the Valentino haute couture fall/winter 2011 collection come down the runway in Paris today—Anne Hathaway, Olivia Palermo and Amanda Peet among them—the intricate craftsmanship is so clearly visible from the pictures on your computer screen. “Opulence is transformed in a private dimension far from indiscreet eyes,” is how the Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli described the collection, which was full of tulle, lace, feather accents, hand-sewn flowers and sheer elements.
