Congratulations to Alyssa Campanella, the newly-crowned Miss USA 2011! The 21-year-old Miss California beat 50 other contestants at the live pageant last night, and we scored all the details about her winning look, created by designer Sherri Hill. “Alyssa broke all ‘pageant rules’ by wearing an unusual high fashion design,” Hill told InStyle.com exclusively today, “and choosing emerald green for competition rather than a more traditional pageant color.” Hill custom-made the look for Campanella—French beads, sequins and Swarovski crystals on tulle made up the bodice of the gown, while the skirt was crafted from silk taffeta, and fashioned with horsehair to give it an architectural shape.
