Over in New York, Whitney Port caught up with former boss Diane von Furstenberg at a CFDA Awards after-party, where Ashley Greene talked fashion with her designer date Michael Kors. Michael Kors’ New Resort Collection: See the Photos!

For his 2012 resort collection, Michael Kors sent his fans surfing! The designer decked out his vacation wear with wetsuit-inspired paneling, sporty zippers, and neon neoprene, for a look he calls “surf Jackie.” While the looks won’t hit stores until this winter, Miranda Kerr already got her hands on the collection—the supermodel wore a sexy bodysuit and a gold-trimmed sarong to last night’s CFDA Awards. Judith Ripka‘s new handbag collection for QVC debuts tomorrow. The designer already sells her popular jewelry and purses through the retailer, and her latest handbag line, which Ripka co-designed with her daughter-in-law Allison Ripka, features leather hobos, satchels, and totes. The pieces are embossed with exotic finishes like stingray and python, and prices ranges from $125 to $294. CFDA Awards 2011: InStyle’s Hal Rubenstein Accepts Founder’s Award

At last night’s CFDA Fashion Awards, Jessica Alba presented InStyle’s fashion director Hal Rubenstein with the highly-prestigious CFDA Founder’s Award for his contribution to the world of fashion. “No man or woman puts together a look with the swagger of Hal Rubenstein,” Alba told the fashion industry crowd. “He was one of the first to shape the way the world thinks about celebrity, and just as importantly, he showed women everywhere how to incorporate red-carpet glamour into their everyday lives.” Rubenstein then took the stage to express his thanks, and touched upon the goal of his 17-year career at the magazine: “To make every woman believe that they can get dressed and look in the mirror and hopefully feel the way my mom did when she saw herself in my father’s eyes.” Congratulations!

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Debut The Row Handbags!

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen just added a new addition to their fashion label The Row—handbags! The design duo scored a Swarovski Award for Womenswear nomination at last night’s CFDA Awards, where they debuted snakeskin top-handle totes from their collection ($5,450). The purses will retail for $4,700 and up, and the full handbag line will hit department stores at the end of July, just in time for fall!
