The bag FABIOLA PEDRAZZINI is so original , special and is also made in Italy, I LOVE IT !

-SharonB on May 16th, 2011

Easy I vote the DIEGO ROCHA for his “Baby Jane” bag because of it’s color, beautiful shape, texture and the details such as the way the patterns of the bag and the weaved handle. Looks like it is very fine quality too. The bag says a lot on its own already, I can easily imagine it combined with so many other outfits. The color is very bold and daring. Very sexy, glam and sleek and feminine. Plus it looks it offers much more functionality and will be easy and effortless to hold. I LOVE HIS INSPIRATION for this design.

I watched almost all the websites of the designers and I must say that the bag that I like most is that of Fabian Pedrazzini and Olivia for Olivia Y. Yoo Kyung Sohn Sohn (Olivia unfortunately does not have a website and I did not find much about her)
The endorsement of the site “Fabian Pedrazzini handbags” and photos of the details of his collection of bags: and it is perfect, great material (the skin looks so soft), excellent construction and beautiful colors (we suggest you visit the site! ), we see that it was made in Italy and then a new book, never seen before I love the blue piping effect is el! Unfortunately I can not say the same of the other designer handbags: nice but already seen :(

-Keeva Nelson on May 17th, 2011

I personally love the handbag by Adriana Vargas. Love the design, it actually has design. I hope she wins!

-Terry on May 17th, 2011

I vote for Olivia Sohn (exhibit # 19) because it displays great originality while being classically elegant and edgy all at the same time .Feminine strength simply oozes from this divine handbag. Kuddos to the artist.

I personally love, love, love, STELLA VITTORIO. I have several and receive positive feedback about how beautiful the bags are!

-Kaela on May 18th, 2011

You are right, the bag is magnificent Fabiola Pedrazzini, I looked at the website and the whole collection is very beautiful, cool!
And I read on Vogue.it who worked for several brands, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, LV … very talented!

Well!!!!!–Stephanie Jolluck has really torched the voting..and the overall public voting fun as well. Her rise cannot be from interested independent voters…Daahhhh..Must have a background in Chicago politics, where they vote early, often and even while dead.

-Boss Tweed on May 18th, 2011

WOW……Stephanie Jolluck and her fair trade bag company most surely does not embrace fair voting principles. Her swift rise to the top clearly was manufactured, and put a damper on any further legitimate voting. Like a South American dictator, the ferocity of her voting machine took all the “poor” ,truly start-up, independent handbag designers from the legitimacy of 1% to 2% of voting results to a flat zero. Common Steph…from 7% to 25% in a few hours, to 45% now….Just hope you are paying fair wages to you voters.

-Watchdog on May 18th, 2011

Stephanie Jolluck – up for socially responsible handbag has fans from all around the globe, She receives my vote for her outrageously colorful and versatile tote… Made in Guatemala in support of the Indigenous Mayan culture. Her humanitarian work in Darfur with John Pendergast of Enough Project, Care Organization and her donations to 50cents. Period… speaks volumes about her GLOBAL following… socially responsible way beyond the fashion of a handbag. I would love to see her acknowledged for these accomplishments!

-Connie Johnson on May 19th, 2011

Wow, most socially responsible handbag? It’s brilliant – the Neide Ambrosio, Pretinha Artes Lacres bag!

-Ana Martins on May 19th, 2011

It’s sooooooooo lovely Neide Ambrosio Martins de Souza golden bag! How can I get mine?

-Lourdinha Young on May 19th, 2011

The pop top bag is great!! I bet whoever wears it, always get attention. It is soo unique and different.

-Lilian Almeida on May 19th, 2011

The handbag by designer Neide Ambrosio Martins de Souza in ‘The Most Socially Responsible Category’ is the one for me! I would normally never comment on these sites but it caught my attention, and it has my vote. It is so striking and chic, her story and cause is amazing too! If I could get my hands on this, I’d not only look good but I’d feel proud to sport it due to its origins and the story behind it. This is perfect for any glam eco-conscious chica!!

-D the Chic Diva on May 19th, 2011

Really Boss Tweed? I am an “interested independent voter” and I love Stephanie’s bag! Not only did I vote for her bag but I plan on buying one as soon as possible. How sad that you felt the need to make such an angry mean spirited comment!

-Jackie on May 19th, 2011

A standout winner for me, Neide Ambrosio Martins de Souza has created a bag that combines style & functionality with an ethos of sustainability. Reflecting the modern world and progessive social & environmental consciousness, this is truly inspirational work!! xxx

-Courtney on May 19th, 2011

This is a great concept with a flawed voting process. Today’s vote abuser is the leader at 45 or so percent. Just as earlier post’s said.,,these two people who abuse the system do much just to win, ruin the whole process for all the other great bags they drove to zero with their selfish approach. One of them will win this event, but bad karma will follow them into the marketplace. Here is a Big Shout out to all of those designers driven to zero by the two leading vote manipulators

-Jmc on May 20th, 2011

In response to the “really boss tweed” post… My issue is with the manufactured voting process, not with the bag… So by all means buy one. Not mean spirited on the design and bag…just the manipulation of the voting, which has been outdone by the currant leader. Give me a break, any random public voting would never produce skewed results like we see here.

-Boss Tweed on May 20th, 2011

nice

-naif on May 20th, 2011

-aster on May 20th, 2011

-john johnson on May 20th, 2011

I am impressed with all the designs. However, my preferences are for eco and social responsible bags. Adrianne, Jessica, Stephanie, Neide among others, will receive my votes. Anyhow, congratulations to all finalists!

-Gonzalez on May 20th, 2011

I vote for Diego Rocha “Baby Jane” Handbag as the most beautiful Handmade Handbag. I am an avid collector and know firsthand how exceptional Diego’s Handbags are! Attention to Details and Quality of Leather & Exotics and Diego’s passion for Design are what sets him apart from other Designers.

-Gigi on May 21st, 2011

I love the work from Neide Ambrosio, not just because is very criative.it social too! Congratulation Neide for the Success..

-paulo on May 22nd, 2011

Why have the most beautiful bags 0% ??
Grants Fabiola Pedrazzini, Aimee Kestenberg, Olivia Sohn Kyung Yoo are the most beautiful and special.
I hope they have so much success, they deserve it!

-chanel on May 22nd, 2011

What a wonderful ideia the Handbag Awards! I see several beautiful bags here! Clara, Helena, Arielle, Jessica… what about that one made from recycled soda-can pop-tops? It’s amazing! They come from Brazil hills – them all poor people, finding a way to survive and dignifying their lives with an aportunity of job… really incontestable its socially responsible!!

-danifig@gmail.com on May 23rd, 2011

When I want to buy a new bag, or it is a Louis Vuitton or similar famous ones, or it is a quite different and brillliant one, to make the diference in my style! The bags here are most of them great. Even that one made by M. Theodosiades is really criative and original, but I cannot concept the idea of people using it in the streets, maybe Lady Gaga does, but is it commercially salable? I don’t think so. Sorry.

-Kin.martins.rj@globo.com on May 23rd, 2011

it is true Kins Martins!
I love the bag Fabiola Pedrazzini, is crazy, cool and very innovative!
It has a wonderful structure and I think if they put on the market, will make a lot of success
The bag of Olivia Y Sohn is very beautiful, I think the market needs these two designers!

-AnnaWi on May 23rd, 2011

Owner Neide Ambrosio is a dear neighbor … I’m 21 years old and has 69 years Neide … The difference in age is 48 years and are of very different generations, but that does not change the fact I Dmires it and being a fan of your beautiful work. I love the mix of knitting with the seals of aluminum and that is why my vote is more than her. So I’m here on behalf of young people to say we’re a fan of the Neide Ambrosio and that this competition I see no other scholarship except hers first! Neide Congratulations!

-Carolina Anjos on May 24th, 2011

Beautiful Bags! Congratulation to all of you! My vote is for Neide Ambrosio. That’s a very beautiful bag. I love the design and the concept as well.

-Leila Albanese on May 28th, 2011

I love the bag Fabiola Pedrazzini, I vote her !

-Trisha_bells on May 30th, 2011

I vote Diego Rocha for the baby Jane bag!!! His stuff is the bomb!!!

-Lori Elder on May 31st, 2011

i don’t know about this voting process, it seems skewed. i mean all power to ms. Ambrosio, but really? we saw this exact same idea last year in the same awards, so design? where? there are much more beautiful bags here, Olivia Y. Sohn, Adriana Vargas INANAI, Belinda Pasqua, actual design. i really like the inanai bag it is clever and different. so wonder how they are tallying the vote here?

-Patricia on June 2nd, 2011

Same idea? Same design? Oh, come on, it’s not true. The Independent Handbag Designer Awards is the same as previous years, and they show new handbags with new designers, and also designers who participated last year and with dignity they are here for a new reason, no matter whether the bags are made with the same material: leather, cloth, aluminium or plastic!

-Yanira Gutiérrez on June 3rd, 2011

Neide Ambrosio has many friends scattered throughout this vast Brazil. She is simple and poor, with not much studies, but she has a giant heart!
She is retired, has 69 years old. She does not have much time to realize her only dream: before leaving, she wants to see the girls and women that work in her community with a bettter oportunity in life. Because of her beautiful history and because she fights to let her voice being heard, she has made good friends around here. I’m one of them. And I want to thank you all, my friends from Rio, Recife and also from São Paulo, especially Maria Regina, for all she is doing for Neide.

-Leo Mariano on June 3rd, 2011

There are so many young designers and valid as: HelenaT.M. Grant, Fabiola Pedrazzini, Jessica Rizzuti and Aimee Kestenberg who work every day with mollti sacrifices just to pursue their dream!
So Fabiola Pedrazzini ,Helena T. M. Grant , Jessica Rizzuti and Aimee Kestenberg I hope you win you, in your classes and wish to sell your bags in all stores of the world, you deserve it!
The world needs people like these brave artists! and your bags are the most crazy and beautiful

I have been buying Neide Ambrosio Martins de Souza’s handbags in the fairs of Rio, we are temporarily stationed here, before I even heard of this site. Her bags are creative and well made. I find it wonderful that such a simple woman has made it so far with her handbags, and is an inspiration to us all. I can only wish her luck while I enjoy her handbags!
