Princess Beatrice’s Hat Going Up for Auction!

The Philip Treacy creation became an instant Internet meme when the princess wore it to Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s April 29th nuptials, inspiring a Facebook page with 137,000 fans and countless mock-up photos of everyone from President Obama to kittens wearing the topper. Her mother, Sarah Ferguson, said during a taping of the The Oprah Show, “She’s putting it up on eBay to auction it for UNICEF and for Children in Crisis.” There’s no word yet on when the sale will take place or what the asking price will be, but Treacy’s designs regularly sell for up to $3,300, so those who want to own a piece of royal wedding history should start saving!
