Kate Middleton’s Wedding Day Nail Polish: The Exact Shades

Apr 29, 2011 @ 8:18 am

Kate Middleton‘s manicurist Marina Sandoval from the Jo Hansford salon spoke to the Daily Mail exclusively to reveal the exact shades of polish she blended for the bride’s wedding day look: Bourjois So Laque Ultra Shine Nail Enamel in Rose Lounge, a barely there pink sold only in the UK, and Essie Allure ($8, essie.com), a sheer beige tone. ”Catherine wanted something very natural and I felt these matched her skin colour beautifully. She wanted something off-white and bridal, so these were absolutely perfect,” Sandoval said. “She was very pleased with the result and told me that it looked beautiful and elegant.” Sandoval’s services—which also included a luxury soak, exfoliation and deep tissue massage—were arranged by Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Bowles, as a pampering wedding day treat. Looks like Kate is already part of the family!

Kate Middleton’s Wedding Day Hair and Makeup Details!

Apr 29, 2011 @ 7:54 am

We reported last week that Kate Middleton would be doing her own makeup after taking lessons with expert Arabella Preston—and the results were absolutely stunning. Middleton went for a softly smoky eye, rimming her eyes in black liner and brushing her lids with a dove gray shadow. A rosy cheek and nude pink gloss finished the look. (Word has it the makeup may have been Bobbi Brown.) As expected, she also wore her hair down in long, tumbling waves, a style that was courtesy of her longtime stylist James Pryce of the Richard Ward salon in London, while associates from the salon styled the bridal party. “Catherine’s bridal look is called the ‘Demi Chignon’—an updo style which combines a classic bridal look with a regal, couture finish,” the salon said in a statement. “The focus of the style was Catherine’s unique and individual halo style tiara, set just back from the hairline, which determined the finished look.” According to Elle UK, Pryce and Middleton spent four months and created multiple mood boards to perfect the Demi Chignon. We’re absolutely delighted with the final result—but what do you think of Kate’s hair and makeup? Click through our gallery to get a closer look at both Kate and Pippa’s looks, then tell us what you think in the comments below.

Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress Photos: Alexander McQueen!

Apr 29, 2011 @ 6:26 am

Kate Middleton kept her wedding dress designer a secret since her engagement, and the world waited for her big reveal this morning. And what a reveal it was! The new Duchess of Cambridge wore a gown designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. “Miss Middleton worked closely with Sarah Burton in formulating the design of her dress,” the Clarence House said. It is made from hand-cut English lace and French Chantilly lace. She is wearing matching shoes by Alexander McQueen. The train is over six feet long. “The seamed pleating of the dress breaks the volume and give a great sweeping set of arcs to the train,” said InStyle‘s Fashion Director Hal Rubenstein. “Love, love, love it!” What do you think? Tell us in the comments! See more photos of the dress, from every angle, in the gallery.
