We reported last week that Kate Middleton would be doing her own makeup after taking lessons with expert Arabella Preston—and the results were absolutely stunning. Middleton went for a softly smoky eye, rimming her eyes in black liner and brushing her lids with a dove gray shadow. A rosy cheek and nude pink gloss finished the look. (Word has it the makeup may have been Bobbi Brown.) As expected, she also wore her hair down in long, tumbling waves, a style that was courtesy of her longtime stylist James Pryce of the Richard Ward salon in London, while associates from the salon styled the bridal party. “Catherine’s bridal look is called the ‘Demi Chignon’—an updo style which combines a classic bridal look with a regal, couture finish,” the salon said in a statement. “The focus of the style was Catherine’s unique and individual halo style tiara, set just back from the hairline, which determined the finished look.” According to Elle UK, Pryce and Middleton spent four months and created multiple mood boards to perfect the Demi Chignon. We’re absolutely delighted with the final result—but what do you think of Kate’s hair and makeup? Click through our gallery to get a closer look at both Kate and Pippa’s looks, then tell us what you think in the comments below.

Stunning! I wish I could do my own make up that well! She is truly the epitome of grace, elegance and sophistication!

I think the earrings should have been reversed. Pippa’s earrings were lovelier and looked more like wedding earrings. The oak leaf and acorn was kind of diplomatic looking and not sweet and bride-like.

Kate’s earrings were a wedding gift from her parents who had the earrings made to reflect the design of Cartier tiara. The earrings were appropriate because they were made for Kate.

Phew! For ten years I thought I was the only one who did their own makeup for their wedding. I wanted to look like myself too. She looked gorgeous, and ten years after the fact I’m finally ok to say I think I looked gorgeous too (oh to have 27 year old skin again! My wedding pic here: http://bit.ly/i8bqBD

I love how she stayed very true to herself on such a big day..most brides go to great lengths on that day to look better than they usually do and end up not even looking like themselves in their own wedding photos, she knows she beautiful and she does not need big poofy and sparkly things to distract :) its not the dress that made her stunning its HER that was stunning..love and best wishes to the young couple :)

She look absolutely stunning…….the make up is just right, its shows her natural beauty!!!
this should be a lesson to all brides to be…..you don’t have to put more make up on ur big day…
make it simple and natural….i’ve seen a lot of bride who put more dark make up on their wedding day
they’ll end up look like a monster lol….just saying!
