Gossip Girl: New Girl Kaylee DeFer’s Style Secrets

Gossip Girl has a new Upper East Sider—Serena’s long-lost cousin Charlie, played by actress Kaylee DeFer (shown). So, what kind of style can she bring to the fashion obsessed show? We caught up with the CW newcomer to find out. Defer told us that while Charlie goes for nudes and earth tones, she favors things more casual. “I like to have something a little outrageous, a little shock factor,” the actress explained of her look. So what’s her signature accessory? “My fiancée and I go to flea markets and find vintage glasses frames and restore them. Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Unique Fragrance

Even though Prince William and Kate Middleton are asking guests to make donations in lieu of gifts for their wedding on Friday, April 29th, the couple will still receive a few special treats. One is from master fragrance specialist Roja Dove of Harrods Haute Parfumerie, who commissioned renowned perfumer Clive Christian to create a unique his-and-hers set of his infamous No. 1 The World’s Most Expensive Perfume exclusively for the royal couple. “The fragrances are placed side-by-side in a piano black case, with the royal coat of arms hand-embroidered onto the case,” Victoria Christian, brand ambassador and daughter of Clive, told InStyle of the newlywed gift. “The presentation is truly a fitting tribute to the royal couple, as Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were fans of the perfumery.” While the pair will receive a bottle each of No. 1 in hand-cut crystal bottles bearing their respective initials etched in gold, the juice inside is the same as Christian’s already-on-sale fragrance, available at SaksFifthAvenue.com for $865 (fitting for its name!). Jessica Alba Celebrates Maria Menounos’ New Book and More!

A pregnant Jessica Alba joined Maria Menounos at Shay Todd in Los Angeles to celebrate the Access Hollywood and NBC News correspondent’s new book, The EveryGirl’s Guide to Life. Alba showed off her pregnant belly in a L.A.M.B. maxi dress topped with a Burberry leather vest and Paige Novick necklace, while Menounos shined in a gold sequined jacket and Tacori diamond studs. Later that night, Britney Spears made a surprise appearance at Nicki Minaj‘s after concert party at The Factory nightclub in West Hollywood. Jennifer Lopez’s American Idol Outfits: 21st Century Song Week!

For Wednesday’s 21st Century Song competition episode, Lopez wore loose silk sparkle box shape tee by Madewell, available online at Madewell.com for $295 (shown). The following night, she fought back tears as contestant Stefano Langone got voted off in a black textured Roberto Cavalli dress, and she accessorized with a stack of bracelets and boots by Christian Louboutin. Would You Use a Full Body Scanner at the Mall?

It’s no secret that sizing can be inconsistent from brand to brand—one clothing company’s size six may be another’s size ten. Shoppers have dealt with the problem by waiting forever in dressing room lines, or ordering multiple sizes online only to send back the styles that don’t fit. But there’s a new solution: Full body scans! A company called MyBestFit is setting up mall kiosk body scanners that can pinpoint what size you’ll be in over 50 brands. How it works: Shoppers step into a circular booth, where a rotating wand emits low-power radio waves that record about 200,000 body measurements, the New York Times reports. Users leave with a printout matching their measurements to clothes from Banana Republic, American Eagle, J. Brand, Talbots, and more. MyBestFit kiosks are currently available in Pennsylvania’s King of Prussia mall, and the company plans to roll out 13 more stations along the east coast and California this year.
