Dancing With the Stars Makeup Secrets: Kendra Wilkinson’s Red Hot Look!

Apr 5, 2011 @ 6:06 pm

Not only are the costumes precisely executed for each Dancing With the Stars episode, but the makeup is, too. That’s why we caught up with the show’s head makeup artist Melanie Mills for the exclusive scoop on some of the night’s looks, like Kendra Wilkinson’s red hot makeup. Since Wilkinson was dancing the romantic rumba, Mills kept her makeup soft and sultry. “We toned down the over-the-top diva look that we’ve been doing the last few weeks and instead went for a soft bedroom eye,” she told us. Mills swept amber shadow from Anastasia’s Illumin8 Complex eye shadow palette No. 5 ($40, sephora.com) across the entire lid, and then rimmed her eyes with black pencil and finished with tons of lifting mascara. A few dabs of highlighter on the star’s cheekbones and chin warmed her complexion and added a touch of light, as seen on Mills’ face chart (inset). See Wendy Williams’ look after the jump! More

Inside Michael Bublé and Luisana Lopilato’s Wedding!

Apr 5, 2011 @ 5:35 pm

Our favorite Canadian crooner Michael Bublé married Argentinian actress Luisana Lopilato in Buenos Aires over the weekend. The couple first enjoyed a civil ceremony, and later celebrated in grandeur with 300 guests at a private mansion. The groom, 35, sang his hit “Haven’t Met You Yet” to his new bride at the reception in a DSquared2 suit, a song he originally wrote for her in 2009, and they had their first dance to Dean Martin’s “Everybody Loves Somebody.” The bride, 23, wore three dresses for her multiple affairs: a purple dress for the civil ceremony, a Sylvie Burstin gown (shown), and a Marchesa design. The couple had been engaged since 2009. Click through to see inside the Bublé-Lopilato wedding!

Dancing With the Stars: Kirstie Alley and Kendra Wilkinson’s Sheer Looks!

Apr 5, 2011 @ 4:17 pm

Dancing With the Stars delivered another entertaining episode last night, and the costumes by designer Randall Christensen were just as interesting as the dancing. Sheer overlays were one of last night’s most popular fabrics, as seen on Kirstie Alley and Kendra Wilkinson. “Both Kirstie and Kendra chose songs that were rumbas, which is such a romantic dance, and the slowest of all the Latin dances,” Christensen told InStyle. “In order to enhance slow, deliberate body movement, it’s quite the challenge to get the costume to move with every subtle step. A sheer overlay not only adds ripples and flow to the dance, it also softens the lines, and adds that romantic tone to their routine,” he said. “And who doesn’t like to get a peek at what’s underneath?!” he added. We must admit, the chiffon glided across the floor, even after Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s abrupt muscle spasm sent him and Alley tumbling to the ground. Click through to see what the rest of the contestants wore on last night’s episode.
