Ever since Hailee Steinfeld shot to stardom with her Oscar-nominated role in True Grit, we were waiting with bated breath to find out what the former Guess model’s next project would be. Turns out, 14-year-old is heading to fairytale land! Steinfeld signed up for a new Sleeping Beauty movie, which will be a remake of the classic, reimagined to tell the tale from within her dream world and she has to “find her way out,” Deadline reports. And this isn’t the only enchanted legend to be remade, as new versions of Hansel & Gretel, Snow White, and Peter Pan are also in the works. While Steinfeld’s project is still pending—a studio has yet to buy the script, though she will star in it if sold—we took a look back at her rise on the red carpet, from rising newbie to style star. Dancing With the Stars let its first celebrity contestant go last night—“Psycho” Mike Catherwood. The radio DJ and co-host of Loveline with Dr. Drew laughed his way off the show, which is a happier expression than we expected! While we didn’t get to know Mike that well, we’ll miss him and especially his partner Lacey Schwimmer, as she always looks spectacular on the dance floor, whether she wears a metallic gown or ruffle booty black and red shorts (shown). Jennifer Garner is going to play Agatha Christie’s most famous amateur detective, Miss Marple! While Christie wrote the character as an elderly woman living in the fictional English village of St. Mary Mead, Disney is revamping the story to feature a younger, present-day Marple, Deadline reports. (Wardrobe update!) Marple was first played on the big screen in 1961 by Dame Margaret Rutherford, and Angela Lansbury took over the role in the 1980 film The Mirror Crack’d, which also starred Elizabeth Taylor. So far it’s unclear whether Garner’s film will be based on a particular Christie novels, but we do know that the screenwriter is Mark Frost, whose previous credits include Fantastic Four and TV’s Twin Peaks. We’re excited to see the Alias star put her sleuthing skills to work again!
