Mad Men Costume Designer Janie Bryant’s New QVC Collection

Feb 26, 2011 @ 10:04 am

Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant launched her first ’60s-inspired clothing collection named Janie Bryant MOD for QVC last fall, and now she’s coming out with a new lineup for spring. “While fall was all about glamour, spring is all about romance and femininity,” Bryant (shown) told InStyle. Expect reversible swing coats, lace fabrics, floral skirts, and vintage-inspired handbags. In addition to her clothing line, she also designed a new set of spring garden party-inspired nail polishes for Nailtini, and wrote a book entitled The Fashion File: Advice, Tips and Inspiration from the Costume Designer of Mad Men, both of which will also be available through QVC. Click through the gallery for a preview of her new collection!

Celebrity Q&A: When Did You Wear a Tutu Last?

Feb 25, 2011 @ 6:46 pm

When Oscars Best Actress nominee Nicole Kidman was asked what she was going to wear to the big event Sunday, she knew her daughter would have some influence. “Sunday Rose has pretty strong opinions, and she chooses what she calls ‘pretty dresses,’ so she has a very strong voice in terms of what I will be wearing on the night of the Oscars,” Kidman said at the Oscars nominees lunch last month. “I could be wearing a tutu.” So, will she wear a tutu? We doubt it. But, with the proliferation of ballet-inspired fashion, from Black Swan to the runways, we asked celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Kate Bosworth, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and more about the last time they pulled on a tutu. And we didn’t leave out the boys! Click through the gallery to see all the celebrity tutu answers. Then, tell us: When did you wear a tutu last?

Zoe, Longoria, More Celebrate Tom Ford’s Los Angeles Store

Feb 25, 2011 @ 3:58 pm

Tom Ford opened his first Los Angeles-area store on Rodeo Drive last night, and we popped by to check it out. Inside, Eva Longoria, Kristin Davis, and Rosario Dawson were among the many celebrities who swung by to celebrate the designer’s new outpost, a two-floor 9,200-square-foot space with 23-foot ceilings. Interior designer William Sofield designed the mostly gray, silver, and high-gloss lacquer glass space, which includes two exterior courtyards covered in blue-gray marble. Stylist Rachel Zoe, who is dressing Anne Hathaway for her Oscars hosting gig, also attended to support the designer wearing a vintage Oleg Cassini dress. “I’m nine months pregnant, so I’m sort of limited,” she said of her look. “My water could break as I stand here.” Click through the gallery to see more celebrities at Tom Ford’s Los Angeles store opening.

Anne Hathaway’s Oscars Workout Routine

Feb 25, 2011 @ 2:46 pm

Anne Hathaway is busy in Los Angeles preparing for her Oscars hosting gig, and she’s got one thing on her to stay in shape during her hectic schedule—personal trainer David Kirsch’s gym in a bag ($75, DavidKirschWellness.com). “It’s like me in a bag,” Kirsch (inset), Hathaway’s longtime trainer, told InStyle. “Anne has my routine down. With the gym in a bag she can fit workouts in when and where she wants them.” The travel bag includes a medicine ball, set of wrist weights, and Kirsch’s Ultimate New York Body Plan DVD, which features a series of workout routines targeting different areas—the perfect combination for on-the-go gals. And you can get Hathaway’s workout, too. “You can start to tone and sexify your entire torso with a 15-minute workout,” says Kirsch, who has also trained Liv Tyler and Heidi Klum. So… have 15 minutes? Check out one of Kirsch’s circuit workouts after the jump! More
