Rachel Zoe Wears the Rachel Zoe Collection

Feb 27, 2011 @ 11:54 pm

Stylist Rachel Zoe couldn’t be busier! She dressed Oscars host Anne Hathaway in eight different outfits tonight, she’s nine months pregnant, and she’s launching her first eponymous collection this fall. This weekend—among all of the hustle and bustle—she also played publicist and wore a piece from her new lineup to the Charles Finch and Chanel Pre-Oscar party in Los Angeles on Saturday. “I’m wearing my own dress, and it will be available in August,” Zoe told us of the black and gold shift, which she first showed in a white-and-black variation for her lookbook (inset). “I‘m about to go into hiding for a little bit so why not wear my own stuff while I can?” We love the new black version!

Oscars Trend: Red

Feb 27, 2011 @ 11:08 pm

Red was the color of the night at the Oscars! Sandra Bullock wore a red silk faille mermaid dress by Vera Wang, Penelope Cruz picked a garnet gown with hand-embroidered sequins by L’Wren Scott, and Best Actress nominee Jennifer Lawrence chose a crimson tank gown by Calvin Klein, which was hand-made for her by the label’s designer Francisco Costa. Tell us: Did you like red on the red carpet?

Wolfgang Puck’s Menu for the Official Oscars After-Party

Feb 27, 2011 @ 9:44 pm

Wolfgang Puck created the menu for tonight’s Governors Ballthe official Academy Awards after-party—his 17th year doing so! “Our goal each year is to honor Hollywood’s brightest stars and most accomplished artists with a culinary masterpiece,” Puck said. This year, the menu is Latin-inspired, and features Oscar-shaped smoked salmon (shown) and gold-dusted chocolate Oscars. And catering for 1,500 of the most important people in Hollywood takes a hefty staff, Puck explained. “We are having about 900 staff—plus 50,000 organic heirloom baby vegetables, 1,600 whole Dover sole and 10 pounds of black truffles—working to feed all these hungry superstars after the Oscars ceremony.” Click through to preview Puck’s Governors Ball menu.

Michelle Williams Pre-Oscars Secret: Acupuncture!

Feb 27, 2011 @ 6:47 pm

Michelle Williams and Busy Philipps are best friends, and they’re spending Oscars weekend together—as each other’s date to the big event. “For the weekend we are going to get ready together for the whole thing,” Philipps told us at the Forevermark Diamond Dinner at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles this week, which honored Williams for her Academy Award Best Actress nomination for her role in Blue Valentine. “I’m having Dr. Sharon Zadanoff, who is my chiropractor, acupuncturist and massage therapist, come and do treatments on Michelle and me in the early morning to calm us down and relax us and get us zen. Then we’re doing manicures and pedicures together.” As for the whole pre-Oscars routine, that’s just the beginning. “After that, then we start getting ready,” Philipps said. “You literally have to give it hours!”

Tight shift dresses made key choices for day and night, and the collection also featured glamorous evening offerings like gowns with molded bustier cups and short dresses covered in feathers. The outerwear selection included tailored military coats and baroque flower motif printed layers. The models’ sleek hair, perfectly parted in the center, added to the look.
