Calvin Klein‘s 2011 fall collection showed designer Francisco Costa “at the top of his game,” says InStyle‘s fashion director Cindy Weber Cleary. The label’s signature minimalist aesthetic dominated, as voluminous structured pieces shown entirely in a neutral palette of  white, gray, wheat and black came down the runway. Tactile fabrics such as jacquard, twill, and shearling answered the need for clothes that can stand up to the coldest temperatures, and short dresses for evening offered a modern approach to the evening look. “My favorite look was the gold dress,” says Weber Cleary. “It may look simple, but the fabric is nothing like I’ve ever seen before, and the fit is perfect. Buy it now, and wear it forever!” Click through the gallery to see the our favorite picks from the Calvin Klein fall 2011 collection.
