Michelle Tractenberg to Launch Collection With Rebecca Taylor

Feb 11, 2011 @ 6:29 pm

Backstage at the Rebecca Taylor fashion show today, Michelle Tractenberg exclusively revealed to InStyle that she’s planning to create a capsule collection with the designer. “It’s a ways away, but we’re conceptualizing,” said Tractenberg, wearing a Rebecca Taylor sweater and jacket and an Erickson Beamon necklace. “We’ve  been talking closely about what makes a girl a girl and a woman a woman and what definitive moments in a woman’s life can be like articulated in a woman’s outfit. It’ll be very ladylike for those different moments and occasions we all have.” Therefore, the actress has been spending lots of time in Taylor’s showroom. “I guess it’s surreal that I’m good friends with designers whose work I really admire and love,” she said. We can’t wait to see their upcoming collection!

Runway Looks We Love: Peter Som

Feb 11, 2011 @ 4:45 pm

With hooded parkas styled over pink dresses, Peter Som‘s fall 2011 collection exuded fifties ladylike charm with a touch of tomboy. Bright pops of cerise added freshness to the long lengths, while gorgeous all-over sequin dresses and trousers mixed up more traditional looks. Som collaborated with Charlotte Olympia for statement shoes, including neon-tinged pointy-toe pumps and ankle boots. Hairstylist Eugene Souleiman created big bouffants, while MAC’s Tom Pecheux kept the skin clean so the lips popped. Click through the gallery to see some of our favorite looks from the Peter Som show.

Instant Fashion Week Trend: Turtlenecks

Feb 11, 2011 @ 2:31 pm

“The only thing I need right now is a turtleneck,” singer Kelly Rowland told us after the BCBG Max Azria show, where every single look incorporated a turtleneck. And she won’t be the only one come fall, as designers at New York Fashion Week are showing off ways that turtlenecks can be worn with anything. BCBG Max Azria layered them under gowns and dresses (center); Rachel Comey played with prints under a pantsuit (left); and Christian Siriano showed a simple black look with a cocktail-ready skirt. How do you like to wear turtlenecks? Tell us in the comments!
