Gossip Girl Style Secret: Layer Your Tights

Feb 7, 2011 @ 3:53 pm

How do Leighton Meester and the ladies of Gossip Girl stay warm when filming outside in New York? Tika Sumpter, who plays new character Raina Thorpe on the CW show, shared the on-set secretlayer your tights! First you put on a nude pair that looks like your skin color and then you put on a pattern stocking, so it looks like your real leg underneath,” Sumpter (shown right) told InStyle of what she does on the show, a trick she learned from the show’s stylist Eric Daman. This way, you won’t be cold,” she said. “And you won’t freeze when you go out to the club!”

MTV Drops Lauren Conrad’s New Reality Show

Feb 7, 2011 @ 2:29 pm

Lauren Conrad, who rose to reality television fame with her stints on MTV’s Laguna Beach and The Hills, plotted her reality TV comeback last year, by announcing that she would return to MTV for a show documenting the start of her new fashion label. However, MTV confirmed last week that it did not green light the pilot and the show will not air the show on the network. “We sold a show to MTV, filmed it and are really proud of the final result,” Conrad said in a statement to EW. “MTV felt the subject matter was too high brow for their audience and offered me the opportunity to change the show by incorporating more of my personal life. We agreed going into the project that this show would be an aspirational one, focusing on my career and my goals and not my personal relationships. We delivered the show that we sold and are sorry MTV didn’t feel their viewers were savvy enough to appreciate it.” Aw, we were looking forward to watching her on TV again!

First Look: Brian Atwood’s Lower-Price Line

Feb 7, 2011 @ 1:03 pm

Shoe designer Brian Atwood—whose designs are a red-carpet must-have for celebrities like Megan Fox (shown), Leighton Meester and Anne Hathaway—is getting ready to launch his first lower-price line this fall. Today, Atwood unveiled a first look of the line, named B Brian Atwood, which will include blue-green fringe booties, purple pumps and red t-strap heels. “I would definitely say there’s three kinds of aesthetics melted together: Upper East Side poshness, mixed with downtown cool, along with a Parisian sophistication,” the designer told WWD of his collection, which will range between $200 and $600 (lower than his original line, which is $540 to $1,430). B Brian Atwood shoes hits Saks and Barneys in August.

Kim Kardashian’s Sexy Super Bowl Commercial

Feb 7, 2011 @ 10:41 am

Kim Kardashian made her Super Bowl debut last night, starring in a commercial for Skechers Shape-ups. We couldn’t wait to see what she would wear, and turns out, it was very little! Kardashian wore a spandex bra top and matching shorts that showed off her toned body and curves for the steamy spot, in which she “breaks-up” with her trainer (who was shirtless and ripped, mind you) in favor of the brand’s toning shoes. What did you think of Kim Kardashian’s Super Bowl clip? Watch it above and decide. More
