Sofia Vergara, Rachel Zoe and More Celebrate Women in Television

Jan 28, 2011 @ 12:11 pm

New Kmart designer Sofia Vergara joined Rachel Zoe, Cat Deeley, Julie Benz and more at a dinner toasting women in television presented by Elle magazine in Los Angeles last night. A pregnant Zoe showed off her baby bump in a black draped gown, while Vergara wore a tight strapless sheath that highlighted her curves. “The good thing is that because I’m Latin, I think I’m expected to be a little bit more plump and voluptuous,” Vergara said of her signature sexy look. “I think they want me with a little bit of meat.” Both ladies wore Ports 1961, as the Fiona Cibani-designed label sponsored the dinner. Diane Kruger First to Wear Chanel’s Latest Couture Collection

Jan 28, 2011 @ 10:51 am

Chanel‘s latest couture collection just debuted on the runway two days ago, and already Diane Kruger snapped up one of the looks. Last night, the actress wore a pink tiered dress with a black bow to a gala in Paris, a dress that had just sashayed down the runway on the back of model Snejana Onopka less than 48 hours prior. How did Kruger get dibs? We think being the longtime muse of Karl Lagerfeld and sitting front row at the couture fashion show had something to do with it! Now, we wonder… what look will she pick next?

Kyle Richards’ Emerald Earrings are $125

Jan 28, 2011 @ 10:26 am

The ladies of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills know how to pile on the jewelry. And—surprise—not all of their dazzling stunners are real. The shimmering emerald drop earrings that Kyle Richards made famous on the show are actually imitation emeralds, designed by Kenneth Jay Lane, an interpretation of the Lorraine Schwartz earrings Angelina Jolie wore to the Oscars in 2009. While Jolie’s were real—worth an estimated $2.5 million—Richards’ were purchased for $125 at the Jennifer Miller Jewelry store. “It takes a lady of style like Kyle and my wonderful clients to be confident enough to mix fine with faux jewelry,” Miller told us, adding that Kim Richards bought the earrings for her sister. Kelly Ripa, an admittedly huge fan of the Beverly Hills housewives, Tweeted earlier this week that Kyle Richards gave her a pair, too. Meanwhile, her mother chose a red gown by Alexander McQueen for the same occasion.

The Australian Open is taking place right now in Melbourne, Australia, and the players are looking good. Maria Sharapova, right, wore an orange and gray tennis dress from her Nike collection ($110, nike.com), while Venus Williams, left, designed a look for her Eleven line inspired by Alice in Wonderland. So sure, tennis superstar Rafael Nadal took off his pants for Armani this week, but the ladies are having their own fashion show on the court. Check out some of our favorite colorful tennis outfits spotted at the Australian Open in the gallery.

Harry Potter heroine Emma Watson teamed up with fair trade clothing label People Tree for a collaboration line last year, and it’s still going strong. Her third collection for the label—which will also be her last—debuted today online, and the lineup includes polka dot skirts, striped shirts and draped dresses (seen above on Watson). The 20-year-old actress, now a sophomore at Brown University, worked on the collection with the People Tree founders while at the Rhode Island school. “Together we decided on all the colors, fabrics, shapes and craft skills,” she told the Telegraph. And this is just the beginning of the end—more of Watson’s final collection for People Tree will be go on sale at the end of next month. Check out the newest pieces in the gallery.
