Sundance Film Festival Fashion: Boots

Jan 26, 2011 @ 5:57 pm

What’s the hottest trend at the Sundance Film Festival? Look down. We’ve spotted lots of stars in cute boots around Park City, Utah. Zooey Deschanel wore boots by Tory Burch, Rashida Jones tried a clog pair by No. 6 and Lake Bell showed off the latest styles from Sorel. Demi Moore graciously slipped off one of her high heeled hiking boots so that we could get the correct spelling of the label (it’s Vicini) and Kerry Washington revealed that her Coach boots (inset, $198 online) were her secret style weapon. “They’re puffy, so they make your legs look skinny, which is key when you’re all bundled up,” she explained. The Fashion Show Winner Is… Jeffrey!

Jan 26, 2011 @ 3:18 pm

The Fashion Show: Ultimate Collection’s season finale aired last night on Bravo with the announcement of a winner—Jeffrey Williams! “To me this designer really deserved to win,” Isaac Mizrahi (right), one of the show’s judges along with supermodel Iman (left, in Chris Benz), told us at a live Martha Stewart Living Radio broadcast at SiriusXM last night. “We saw growth and spirit in this person, and the collection was the best collection. It was a real surprise to us as judges. We didn’t necessarily think that it would turn out the way it did.” Williams (center), a Seattle-born designer who now resides in New York, couldn’t be happier. “I feel like I came off on the show very authentic and true to myself, the season two winner told us. I was very much in a work mode—my goal was to win the competition.” And he did! As for what he plans to do next? “I’m waiting for the show to die down, but I have a million things in the works right now,” he said. “I want to wait and see all of the offers and just keep up that momentum, drive and passion.

Vanessa Hudgens for Candies: Behind-the-Scenes Photos!

Jan 26, 2011 @ 11:06 am

Sure, it’s the dead of winter, but not for Vanessa Hudgens! Candie’s just announced that it signed the young actress to be the new face of its spring collection, which means she’s posing in summer-friendly bikinis and floral maxi dresses for the campaign. And it’s a big job for the 22-year-old—she’s taking over for Britney Spears, who fronted the collection last season. “It’s such an honor to be a Candie’s girl,” Hudgens said of the brand, which is only sold at Kohl’s stores. “We had a blast shooting the campaign.” Check out an exclusive behind-the-scenes image of Hudgens on set at the Pink Motel in Sun Valley, California that Candie’s shared with InStyle (right). Who Designed Michelle Obama’s State of the Union Dress?

Jan 26, 2011 @ 10:07 am

The answer is Rachel Roy. The New York designer created the silver silk shift dress that First Lady Michelle Obama wore for the President’s State of the Union address in Washington, D.C. last night. She accessorized with drop earrings and stacked lucite bracelets, and she also pinned on a black and white ribbon in memory of the Tuscon shootings. “The First Lady looked picturesque and elegant at last night’s State of the Union Address,” Roy told InStyle exclusively of seeing her design on Michelle Obama. “I am humbled by the tremendous support she has shown me and it is always the highest honor to have her wear one of my designs.” Obama has worn Roy’s designs more than eight times for public appearances during her husband’s presidency.
