5 Fitness Tips From Halle Berry’s Trainer

Jan 18, 2011 @ 5:49 pm

Bye-bye crash diets! The trend with celebrities right now is long-term lifestyle programs that incorporate small diet and fitness changes. “Our clients were less panicked about the Golden Globes because they’re always working out,” said celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak (inset) when we saw him at the Access Hollywood gifting lounge during Globes weekend. “There’s always a reason to look phenomenal.” Pasternak, who works with Halle Berry (shown), Robert Pattinson and Lady Gaga, said his clients all do a variation of his Five Factor Workout, which involves five phases—circuit cardio, upper body strength, lower body strength, abdominal and cardio. He also suggests follow a five-time-a-day eating schedule—three meals and two snacks. Click through the gallery for five tips from Pasternak that you can use right now.

Eva Amurri Is Writing a Book About Being Engaged

Jan 18, 2011 @ 4:24 pm

When we caught up with recently-engaged Eva Amurri, daughter of Susan Sarandon, at the InStyle/Warner Bros. Golden Globes after-party, the actress told us that her new marital status comes with its own set of challenges. Which is why she’s doing something about it. “I’m writing a book about how overwhelming being engaged is for a modern woman,” said Amurri (in Chris Benz), pictured here with her retired professional soccer player fiancé Kyle Martino. “I realized once I got engaged, that everyone is overwhelmed, but nobody talks about it. I’m going to try and write this book as a companion guide for women who are overwhelmed.” Though, that doesn’t mean she isn’t enjoying herself. “Tonight’s the first time I’m being photographed with my ring,” she said, showing off her round diamond solitaire, which is surrounded by diamonds and set on a pave diamond band (inset). “It’s a big deal.”

Red Carpet Jewelry: Lost and Found

Jan 18, 2011 @ 2:46 pm

Mad Men star Christina Hendricks sparkled in 193 carats worth of Chopard diamonds on her earrings and two bracelets, which added a touch of shine to her red one-shoulder gown by Romona Keveza look. But after she walked the carpet and entered the auditorium, Hendricks noticed that one of her bracelets fell off and went missing, Page Six reports. Thankfully, only briefly! The 124-carat diamond bracelet (bottom bracelet shown inset), estimated at $850,000, was found by an event worker and is now safely back in the hands of Chopard. After this close call, we asked other celebrities if they’ve ever lost jewelry before. Click through the gallery to find out their answers! Then, tell us: Have you ever lost a piece of jewelry?

2011 BAFTA Nominations Announced

Jan 18, 2011 @ 10:57 am

Though the Golden Globes are but a memory and the Oscars aren’t until February 27, there are plenty of red carpet events to look forward to in the meantime, including the BAFTA Awards in London. The nominations for the February 13 ceremony, considered by many to be the British equivalent of the Oscars, were announced this morning. Black Swan is a top contender; nominated for Best Film, Best Costume Design, and Best Hair and Makeup, while Golden Globe winner Natalie Portman garnered another Best Actress nod. We’re excited to see that Hailee Steinfeld also landed in the best leading actress category for True Grit, a first for the 14-year-old. And Easy A‘s Emma Stone is nominated for the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award, the only category decided on by a public online vote. (However, only U.K. residents are eligible.) For more, check out the full list of nominees.
