2011 Critics’ Choice Awards: Must-See Red Carpet Looks

The red carpet fashion at the 2011 Critics’ Choice Awards on Friday night featured a pop of winter whites. Best Actress winner Natalie Portman wore a single-strap white Gianfranco Ferré gown with a black band at the top, and paired it with Fred Leighton jewelry, Stella McCartney shoes and a Christian Dior clutch. Michelle Williams also chose white, her variation being a Balenciaga dress with embroidered floral details. She finished the look with Salvatore Ferragamo shoes and Neil Lane jewelry. Catherine Zeta-Jones walked the carpet at the Golden Globes last night in a strapless emerald textured organza gown by Monique Lhuillier, which featured a side drape and hand-tufted skirt. “I’m just happy to be able to put on a pretty dress,” she told us on the red carpet. “It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to do that.” Lhuillier first premiered this dress during her pre-fall 2011 presentation last month, and the designer shared an exclusive sketch of the look with InStyle (left)! Old Hollywood Glamour Spotted at the Art of Elysium Gala

The Art of Elysium Gala on Saturday night in Los Angeles brought out a series of Old Hollywood glamour looks. Leighton Meester wore a beaded fringe Louis Vuitton gown, which she paired with cobalt peep-toe Roger Vivier shoes, while Nicole Richie pinned her hair in a 1920s-inspired style, a complement to her black Emilio Pucci dress. Glee‘s list of superstar guest appearances is growing! Ryan Murphy, the show’s creator, confirmed to People yesterday that Anne Hathaway will appear on the show as Chris Colfer‘s lesbian aunt, a character she came up with herself. How fun! Hathaway joins a star-studded group of Glee guests, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, Olivia Newton-John and Neil Patrick Harris. Glee returns with a new episode February 6th, following the Super Bowl on FOX.

Twi-hards may have to wait until November until the second-to-last installment of The Twilight Saga hits theaters, but the anticipation just got hotter with the release of this steamy photo of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson from Breaking Dawn Part 1. Bella and Edward’s wedding, honeymoon and—spoiler alert!—baby will all be key moments for the last two films. “You want to live up to people’s expectations,” Pattinson told EW of the highly-anticipated wedding night scene, a glimpse of which is shown here (with Stewart). “People take [the movie and characters] personally. When you are interpreting something you have a certain vision of how it will be. Sometimes it is a liberal interpretation, but you hope you get to the essence of something.” Tell us: Are you excited for the next Twilight film?

Meet Miss America 2011: Teresa Scanlan of Nebraska

Meet your new Miss America! Miss Nebraska Teresa Scanlan won the crown on Saturday night in Las Vegas. The 17-year-old aspiring politician, who ran on the platform of eating disorders and played piano as her talent, is the youngest woman to win the title since the first Miss America pageant 90 years ago, Reuters reports. Miss Arkansas Alyse Eady won the first runner-up title, while Miss Hawaii Jalee Fuselier came in the second runner-up position. Click through to see the top finalists’ winning looks.

January Jones, the face of Versace this season, chose a red gown with a plunging neckline by the label for her Golden Globes appearance. “I had seen the dress at the runway show in another color and I got it in red,” the Mad Men star said of her look, which featured fringe strands from top to bottom. So what was the original hue for this gown? An eye-popping cyan blue, first spotted at the brand’s spring 2011 runway show (shown).
