Mena Suvari attended the premiere of The Cape this week wearing a pair of chunky gold spike earrings, a twist on traditional gold studs. The accessory—also a favorite of Rihanna, who wore them in her “Run This Town” music video—are the Albert earrings from the Flutter by Jill Golden collection ($185, FlutterNYC.com). “They give Mena just the perfect amount of edge to complement her all black, very feminine outfit,” Golden told InStyle of the look. Celebrity Nail Salon Lands Reality TV Show

After watching reality television shows about modeling, hairstyling, designing and celebrity styling, there’s another area within the fashion and beauty realm up next—nails. The TV Guide channel announced plans to launch The Nail Files, a show about The Painted Nail in Los Angeles and its owner Katie Cazorla (inset), whose celebrity clients include Hilary Duff (pictured), Vanessa Hudgens and Paula Abdul. “At first I thought working with celebs would be scary and nerve wracking,” Cazorla told InStyle. “It’s not. When people come to get their nails done, they let their guard down—they want to chit chat and relax.” The eight-episode show will chronicle her work with celebrity clients when it premieres this summer.

We’re getting closer and closer to Golden Globes night! Scarlett Johansson and Jada Pinkett Smith were the latest celebrities to be announced as presenters for the January 16 ceremony, adding to the list of celebrities we can’t wait to see on stage. Taylor Swift walked the carpet at the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday night in a pretty peach pleated cocktail dress with an illusion neckline by J. Mendel. The designer behind the label, Gilles Mendel, shared an exclusive sketch of the dress from his spring 2011 collection with InStyle (right), which captures the thought behind the look. Rihanna’s Perfume: Everything You Need to Know

The singer’s first scent, named Reb’l Fleur after a nickname her grandmother gave her—a phrase she also had tattooed on her neck last summer—will hit stores January 25th.
