Just because Gossip Girl isn’t returning with new episodes until next year doesn’t mean that Serena, Blair, Nate, Chuck and Dan are completely off the radar. The hot young crew has been spotted all over New York filming new episodes, and given the chillier-than-usual temperatures, they’re bundling up in cute winter clothes. We’ve spotted Blake Lively piling on layers upon layers of shearling, scarves and long sweaters, including a Catherine Malandrino vest and jacket, for her role as Serena van der Woodsen, while Leighton Meester is rocking printed tights and ivory coats befitting of Blair Waldorf. (And are those Uggs we see on Blair?) We can’t wait to see what else these ladies wear when the show returns at 8 p.m. on January 24th! Check back here for all the insider fashion details.

Michelle Obama Ventures Into Vintage

Dec 17, 2010 @ 10:02 am

Michelle Obama‘s fashion choices are full of surprises, as she impeccably mixes high fashion (Moschino), rising designers (Jason Wu) and national chains (J.Crew and H&M). This week, she surprised us again by wearing a vintage dress when she filmed the “Christmas in Washington” special, which airs on TNT tonight at 8 p.m. She wore a black dress with lace overlay from the 50′s for the event, created by the late American designer Norman Norell, which she purchased from New York Vintage in New York City. The owner of the store told the Huffington Post that the First Lady is planning to wear more dresses from the vintage shop in the future.

Graphic designer turned Chanel nail artist Tom Bachik tends to the tips of celebrities all the time, which is why we wanted to find out his top manicure moments when we caught up with him this month. And some of the loveliest Hollywood ladies topped his list, including Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez and Christina Ricci. “It’s a natural look that’s not natural at all,” Bachik says of Beckham’s nude Inattendu color by Chanel. He picked Jennifer Lopez’s brown color (Particuliere by Chanel) for a different reason. “The dark neutral polish complements her outfit—and it is amazing with her skin tone.” And as for Ricci’s fruity Chanel hue Orange Fizz? “I was thinking young and summer with this shade,” he says. “The nails really became a part of her outfit.” For Bachik’s expert techniques for nailing the perfect manicure, click ahead.
