how many hungry kids could have been fed with the money wasted on this??? I quit watching Oprah years ago because of the materialism. Seems it’s only gotten worse. If she really wanted to go with a Bang, she could have used all this money for a gigantic donation to worthy causes. The greed of the people in the audience is sickening.

I think it was wonderful that the people received all those wonderful gifts. It was my 70th Birthday on the 22nd of November and I have never had a new car in my life and at the present time I have no car. I am an avid reader and would have loved all the wonderful gifts myself. BUT as far a charities go I do not believe there is anyone more generous than Oprah Winfrey I have watched her show since it started and bought her magazine. She is generous to a fault but does not always have to brag and boast about it. I say good luck to the people that were there and got to enjoy everything they got good for them. After all I got to spend my Birthday with my family and got to watch one of my favorite people Thanks Oprah for many years of hope……

I agree with what your saying but there is nothing wrong with helping normal people out. There are a lot of people that might have really needed some of that stuff. Some people act like if you give something/ help out “normal” people you are doing no good, I disagree. Are you going to be receiving any Christmas gifts this year? That was Oprah’s gifts to those people in her audience.

Those audience members were specifically chosen because they were the ones who initially gave their time and effort to society. Oprah is merely repaying them through her generosity. Yeah she could of used all that money to help needing families and hungry children, but you can never stop materialism. Maybe you should stop questioning what she does and actually find out what she already has done- charities, build schools, help the poor, feed the hungry.

I WAS SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THE GIFTS THAT I THOUGHT OPRAH WAS DONATING TO ME AND MY SPOUSE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, BUT WAS SOERLY DISAPOINTED. FROM ALL INDICATIONS OPRAH WAS DONATING US A NEW AUTO AND OTHER FINANCIAL HELP. UPS EVEN CONTACTED US ABOUT DELIVERY AMONG OTHERS. WE LOOKED FOR SOMETHING UNTIL DARK ON CHRISTMAS EVE , AND THEN WE GAVE UP ALL HOPES OF ANYTHING. WE THOUGHT BY EVERYTHING THAT WAS SAID AND DONE , THAT WE WOULD RECIEVE THESE GIFTS. MY HUSBAND WAS AS DISAPOINTED AS I WAS. WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS , WITH HIS HEALTH AND MY HAVING CANCER , AND EVERYTHING GOING WRONG ,FROM THE SURGERY TO THE CHEMO LEAKING INTO MY CHEST CAVITY AND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT COULD GO WRONG DID . I GUESS WE WERE HOPEING FOR SOMETHING TO GO RIGHT FOR A CHANGE. I KNOW OPRAH HELPS A LOT OF PEOPLE, AND CAN’T HELP EVERYONE, BUT WE WERE JUST PRAYING FOR THIS LITTLE BIT OF GOOD LUCK . Dear Oprah, Mary f. Tucker here again. I keep seeing the messages that Oprah has donated to MARY F TUCKER, but I haven’t recieved anything form anyone yet. I know everyone else sees these messages the same as I do and think you have donated something to me. I wish it were so because I sure could use some help and I don’t know where they get that you have donated to us. I had ask for help over a tear ago and by all indications thought you were going to help me and my family but was sorely dissappointed. I’m still PRAYING that you or some great producer or directers will buy my books and make the great movie or great series I know they will make. LIFE LOVE and DEATH, and FARTHER ALONG, more on life love and death is the true syory of my mothers life and the predigest she and her mother went through because the were half breeds, decendents of cherokees. That was no more excepted than white and black mix was. Then for her mother to die at the age of 33 , leaving Fran, 10 years old and a brother not yet 6 , to be put out of the house to make it the best they could. This was back in the mountains out from COPPERHILL, TENN. Just imagine that!
