Will Kate Middleton Wear an Issa Wedding Dress?

Nov 16, 2010 @ 9:35 pm

Kate Middleton wore a beautiful, blue Issa dress when she and Prince William announced their engagement today, but it’s not the first time the soon-to-be-princess has relied on the London-based label. She wore a pink Issa dress in 2008 and a chic knee-length number to a friend’s wedding earlier this fall. Issa now has an exclusive bridal line with Net-a-Porter.com (pictured left), and we’re not going out on much of a limb to guess that the designer would probably be quite happy to whip up something extra special for the lucky lady. We can’t wait to find out—let the Royal Wedding Watch begin!

As the temperature cooled in October, we started to notice Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen pulling out plush, dark furs in Paris and then in NYC. And The Row designers basically haven’t stopped wearing variations on the style since, including at last night’s CFDA Fashion Fund awards. Ashley’s worn black fur three times this season, and Mary-Kate comes in at four. Tell us: What do you think of their fuzzy fall outerwear?

Carey Mulligan to Play Daisy Buchanan

Nov 16, 2010 @ 1:28 pm

No wonder she had a certain sparkle in her eye on the red carpet for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards last night—ending weeks of speculation, British actress Carey Mulligan officially won the coveted role of Daisy Buchanan in the film version of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. Carey reportedly burst into tears—in front of Karl Lagerfeld, no less!—when director Baz Luhrmann called her before the start of the awards and said, “Hello, Daisy Buchanan.” (We’re sure he understood.) With her short bob and on-screen charm, we think Carey’s the perfect choice!
