Rachel Pally Comes to Target

Nov 10, 2010 @ 5:11 pm

The following is a guest post from one of our favorite blogs, Fabsugar.

Target is all about dresses these days. First it announced a limited-edition dress collection, and now it’s collaborated with designer Rachel Pally for an exclusive plum floral frock ($80) as part of its Red Hot Shop. “It can be worn several ways, including strapless or as a skirt. It is flexible, with age range and personal style,” Pally says of her creation. We’re not loving the halter styles as much as we are the skirt and tube dress versions. Still, what’s better than one piece, five ways? You know we’re all about that here at Fab!

His & Hers Style on the Set of Belle du Seigneur

Nov 10, 2010 @ 4:29 pm

Yesterday Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson looked stylish while smooching on set, and today model Natalia Vondianova and Jonathan Rhys Meyer are filling the void. The good-looking twosome fall in love in Belle du Seigneur, an adaption of author Albert Cohen’s dramatic, satirical love story, which is currently filming in Budapest. We’re loving their matching equestrian garb.

Designer Jason Wu—yes, he who created Michelle Obama’s famous one-shoulder inaugural gown—is designing a bridal line exclusively for Net-a-Porter.com. “The capsule collection includes wonderful options for a bride, but also has a relaxed attitude with pieces that can be worn to other occasions,” Wu said. The five looks, which Wu describes as youthful, come in a range of lengths and styles including cascading ivory tulle and an above-the-knee feather skirt. Prices range from $995 to $5475, and the collection debuts in January exclusively at Net-a-Porter. Check out the gallery below to see the complete collection!

Met’s Costume Institute Exhibit Will Celebrate Alexander McQueen

Nov 10, 2010 @ 1:16 pm

Mark your calendars for May 4th, 2011, when the “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” exhibit will open at the Costume Institute Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The show will feature about 100 pieces of McQueen’s singular creations from his London archive, his personal collections and his designs for Givenchy, where he worked in the late ’90s. Known for his inventive runway shows that through the years featured rain, an intricate chess match of models and more, the late designer’s dresses are still red carpet favorites of stars like Sarah Jessica Parker, Sandra Bullock, Salma Hayek and Lady Gaga. The Costume Institute exhibit will kick off with a star-studded gala on May 2nd with Salma and her husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, serving as honorary chairs, and runs through July 31st, 2011.

First Look: Go Behind the Scenes with Carrie Underwood & Olay

Nov 10, 2010 @ 11:25 am

Olay has tapped Carrie Underwood as the brand’s first celebrity spokesperson, and we scored this behind-the-scenes video of the country star shooting the ad campaign. Watch as she dishes about taking big chances (hello American Idol!) and what life is like for her now (think: busy). Tonight will be no exception for the star, of course, as she is co-hosting the CMA awards with Brad Paisley. More
