Go Behind the Scenes of J. Lo’s Fragrance Campaign

Oct 1, 2010 @ 6:13 pm

Jennifer Lopez has a lot going on: She’s the mother of 2- year-old twins, a new judge on American Idol and the producer of a new TV show about nannys in Los Angeles. But her most glamorous endeavor of the moment has to be this month’s launch of her new fragrance, Love & Glamour ($49.50/1.7 oz, macys.com). The perfume, which has notes of guava, jasmine and sandalwood, is meant to capture the extravagance and elegance of the star—and comes with an ad campaign that does just that. We caught up with Lopez’s longtime hairstylist Oribe to talk about his inspiration and execution on the set of the Love & Glamour ad campaign shoot. “Jennifer came up with the concept for the ads,” he told us. “She wanted gorgeous, Rita Hayworth hair.” Click on to see the behind-the-scene pics and to hear more from Oribe, and check out the October issue of InStyle (on newsstands now) for an interview with Lopez!

Shop Whitney Port’s Closet on Our New Go-To Site—I-Ella.com

Oct 1, 2010 @ 4:55 pm

Ever wished you could shop straight from your favorite star’s closet? Now with I-Ella.com, you can. The brand new invite-only site has enlisted the help of enviably dressed celebrities like Whitney Port, who will be generously auctioning off 15 items, including the beautiful blazer she wore during the finale of her Spring 2010 show (pictured). I-Ella.com will also donate a percent of the all proceeds to a charity. In Port’s case, that means 75 percent of the proceeds go to a charity she selected, Face Africa. When you’ve shopped enough (that can happen, right?), dig around your own wardrobe. If you find designer pieces you no longer want, sell them on the site and feel good knowing your closet’s less stuffed and you’ve helped a charity. “We believe shopping can be a catalyst for social change,” says Ella Gorgla, I-Ella.com founder and CEO. “Every time you shop with us, you give back.” For those buyers who aren’t so quick to commit, you can try borrowing something you see on the site for a small fee at one-week or one-month intervals too.

I-Ella.com is offering InStyle readers an exclusive opportunity to join. Simply use the code “InStyle2010″ to sign up and starting shopping and swapping now!

Variety held its “Power of Women” luncheon yesterday at the Beverly Hills Hotel and drew a formidable and fashionable crowd.  Jennifer Garner, Katie Holmes, Amy Adams, Eva Mendes and Diane Lane were all honored at the event.  In a floral Louis Vuitton dress, Holmes accepted her award for her work with Dizzy Feet, saying, “We are all so privileged to be here—in this room, in Hollywood, working to entertain.  Since I was five-years-old, I loved to dance…That opened me up to a world where I could express myself and have a voice.

See more from this week’s hottest parties.

Oct 1, 2010 @ 11:00 am

Secrets don’t make friends, or so they say, and Juliet (Katie Cassidy) is determined to keep hers from Nate (Chace Crawford). The scheming sorority girl plays the innocent victim and definitely looks the part in a flowing Bibhu Mohapatra printed gown, Brian Atwood shoes, MCL statement necklace and Nancy Gonzalez clutch on his unsuspecting arm. Tune in to the CW at 9 p.m. EST Monday night to watch the sure-to-be juicy episode, and click through the photo gallery for head-to-toe credits of what the gals will be wearing!
