She’s Sunglass Hut’s style director, has a new TV show Ghost Angeles in the works, and now InStyle contributor Rachel Bilson can also add an uber stylish movie to her resume. Co-staring Kate Bosworth and Krysten Ritter, BFF and Baby follows three roommates coping after one of them has a baby, as reported by JustJared.com. It will be released next year. But only we can reveal that the film’s costumes will be just as chic as the actresses’ off-set styles. The movie’s wardrobe designer, Ilaria Urbinati, told us exclusively that the stars’ closets will mix rising talents with established greats. Expect labels like Rebecca Minkoff, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Calvin Klein and Proenza Schouler. Swoon! Sounds a little like art imitating Rachel Bilson’s real life fashion sense to us!
Ever since listening to Alexa Chung DJ at Chanel’s Soho store-opening party, we’ve been dying to download the beats that had us grooving at all the shows and after-parties during New York Fashion Week. Prepare your iPods for a fashionable update! VanityFair.com has rounded up some of the very best music heard on the runways. We’re especially loving DJ Robert Lee’s mix from Wes Gordon’s show featuring David Bowie, Phoenix and Razorlight (among others). Even better, our friends over at Stylecaster.com have put together a list of the top 10 new songs played at Fashion Week and a mixtape of the must-have tunes that you can download now for free.
You know that saying “one person’s trash is another person’s treasure”? Whenever I hear it, I think of my closet—and how hard it is to get rid of once-beloved purchases that, while no longer worn, still seem too good to purge. So what should you do with valuable designer clothes you no longer wear when you know another fashionista somewhere would appreciate them? Check out Styleta.com, a not-for-profit organization that sells donated designer clothes to benefit charity. The new site was launched by Harvard senior Yifan Zhang after she won a grant from her school. “I started [the site] after realizing that successful women did not have a place to donate their designer clothing,” she told us. “There have been so many rewarding experiences, but my favorite was when we wrote our first donation check to the homeless shelter in Harvard Square. It was such an affirmation of Styleta’s impact.” Follow Yifan (pictured on the right with designer Camilla Staerk) and her feel-good fashion adventure on her official blog, and learn how to donate—and shop!—at Styleta.com.
Returning to her model roots, Alexa Chung is putting her long legs and striking gaze on display for Pepe Jeans. InStyle.co.uk has just released the black-and-white images, and the Brit It girl looks almost unfairly cool hanging out on Portebello Road. This campaign marks the second time Chung has lent her face to the brand. Actor Jon Kortajarena and model Gaspard Menier round out the genetically blessed cast.

Helen Mirren always looks great, and happily she’s spilling her personal beauty tips to Woman & Home magazine. As reported by The Daily Mail, the actress said, “Four-inch platforms give you great height and make your legs look unbelievably long.” As for where she buys the heels, Mirren continued, “I used to only be able to get them in stripper shops, but now you can get them everywhere–although unfortunately that means everyone else has discovered that trick too!” Plus the legendary Brit admits to trimming and dying her platinum blond hair at home since the ’80s. Is there anything this Dame can’t do?
