Catherine Walker, a French designer responsible for some of Princess Diana’s most famous looks from the ’80s, died last week at the age of 65. Famous for her embellishments and draping, Walker created over 1000 outfits for the late Princess of Wales, including the black dress in which she was buried. Princess Di is pictured at left in one of Walker’s custom designs, a white silk crepe dress and jacket adorned with pearls that she wore during a visit to Hong Kong. You can learn more about the late designer in her autobiography, Catherine Walker: An Autobiography by the Private Couturier to Diana, Princess of Wales.
