Lauren Conrad’s latest book, Lauren Conrad Style, won’t hit bookstores till October 5th, but the publisher just released the first three chapters for previewing. “I’ve dressed myself for the camera for five years—and never repeated an outfit once. Now I’m not saying that all my outfits were good. In fact many of them were pretty bad. But I certainly learned a few things along the way,” she writes in the intro. The personal style guide features advice on building your wardrobe (Chapter 1), where Conrad encourages investing in basics like a little black dress and well-cut blazer, plus a few fun items like maxidresses and bold jewelry. Chapter 2 is all about perfecting the California-cool style of jeans and tees that Conrad writes will serve as “foundation for putting together great outfits.” Chapter 3 is all about the hunt (a.k.a. how to shop), and LC advises prepping for that as you would for a day in the wilderness! Click through the gallery below for a sneak peek of Conrad’s cute outfits and pre-order the coffee table book now.

I love the way you dress Lauren. I also come from a low income family and am paying my way through college. so I am also wondering if you have considered give aways with the clothes you don’t wear anymore. I wouldn’t mind wearing them at all. So far i have a top and the ruffle blue dress from your khols line. Being a college student, I was only able to purchase those when they were on clearance. Again, I love how you dress and the fashion you create.

Is always nice to see a pretty girl with a down to earth look. But like the girls above said, many girls find it hard to put a lovely outfit together with a low budget. I think is smart to add looks that are affordable. It doesn’t matter how much money you have or the clothes you wear. The perfect ingredient to a look is a beautiful personality. Hopefully your book does great. But is always nice to give away tips and strategies that help young girls and women around the country to feel confident in their own skin. Their isn’t many role models out there; to provide a good influence among our society. Hopefully things will change. My motto is: “True beauty is inner beauty”, God Bless!

Love her style! Minimalism yet still trendy and polished. It’s easy to get chic fashion at minimal prices too. Try the basic stores like Forever21, H&M, TopShop, etc. Target has the designer lines that you can find great trendy pieces at very affordable prices. Also, browsing your local vintage stores & eBay (new w/tags) lets you create a unique & eclectic style. I actually scored my beloved Burberry rain boots from Craigslist! (The previous owner only wore them once!)
