From astronaut Buzz Aldrin to Beyonce, a who’s who in entertainment, politics and pop culture have played to the pre-school set since Sesame Street first premiered in 1969. A whole new crop of celebrity guest stars will stop by the neighborhood during the 41st season of the iconic kids program, which kicks off on September 27th. Zoe Saldana and Jude Law play some word association, Katy Perry tweaks her hit song “Hot N Cold” for a duet with the loveable Elmo and Ryan Reynolds temporarily hangs up his macho leading man image in favor of playing a little dress up. The ultimate high school movie has officially graduated! John Hughes’ Brat Pack classic The Breakfast Club is now (gasp!) 25 years old. Telling the story of “a brain, a beauty, a jock, a rebel and a recluse” stuck in Saturday detention, the flick, which stars Anthony Michael Hall, Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy, delivers some pretty powerful messages along with its killer ’80s soundtrack. Between makeovers, making out and capering through the (almost) empty school, each character reveals him or herself in raw monologues touching on suicide, abuse and neglect. So, what’s your favorite scene? Is it Claire’s lipstick party trick? Is it bad boy Bender telling the principal to “Eat my shorts?” As for us, we’ll always want to join in the unabashed library dance party. Check it out after the jump and let us know which Breakfast Club moment you just can’t forget in the comments section below!

We love lilac . . . and lavender, amethyst and eggplant. In fact, purple is our favorite color of the rainbow for fall. It’s rich hue works with clothing crafted for cooler climates, yet at the same time will add a pop to this season’s neutral color palette. Every gal that we know is always searching for the perfect LBD. Stand out in a sea of basic black with this architectural royal purple cocktail dress from Bottega Veneta (size 38, $600). Marcjacobs.com just got a makeover—debuting a fun, new playful way to shop all your favorite Marc collections. Inspired by an actual in-store shopping experience, the new site mixes illustration with photography and video to bring you a “virtual store,” complete with a boutique facade (left) and cartoon sales people. President Robert Duffy and Jacobs are the “buyers” for the site, which features a curated selection of Marc Jacobs collection, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Little Marc, plus a variety of special, inexpensive items (T-shirts, key chains, colored pencils) that have kept the Bleeker Street store in N.Y.C. jam-packed during the holiday season. “It’s going back to the roots of the Marc Jacobs brand…fun, entertaining, engaging, and cool,” James Gardner, CEO of the site’s design firm, told WWD.
