Tommy Hilfiger has just released a glossy coffee table book, Tommy Hilfiger, in celebration of his eponymous brand’s 25th anniversary. “This book is a culmination of my life’s work, sharing some of my innermost thoughts throughout the years,” Hilfiger said. “It’s the equivalent of me telling a friend about my family, how I got to where I am today, and where I want to go from here.” Throughout the 144 photo album-like pages, Hilfiger shares intimate moments, from family boating trips to shots of friends wearing the collection. The limited-edition book (there are only 1,000 copies available) is  available at assouline.com and select Tommy Hilfiger boutiques; it retails for $550 and is elegantly packaged in a linen clamshell box. Bonus: The title also features tributes from some of Hilfiger’s famous friends. Read what Britney Spears had to say after the jump! More

YouTube Beauty Star Recreates Our September Cover!

Aug 31, 2010 @ 4:10 pm

It goes without saying that we’re obsessed with Hilary Swank’s windswept hairstyle on the cover of the September issue of InStyle. (Try it on with our Hollywood Makeover Tool!) Perhaps more interesting though, is the fact that it caught the attention of one of YouTube’s hottest new beauty stars, lolamarie7, and inspired this genius how-to video. We caught up with 25-year-old hairstylist (whose real name is Jess) for a quick interview.

InStyle.com: What was special about Hilary’s hairstyle?

Jess: I love Hilary Swank and this hairstyle just seemed so natural and doable, like you wouldn’t need extensions or a ton of product to pull it off. More

PopSugar’s Retail Therapy Game Adds Emmy Gowns

Aug 31, 2010 @ 4:03 pm

One of our favorite new ways to “shop”—without opening our wallets—is by playing PopSugar‘s Facebook game, Retail Therapy; you can mix and match to make outfits and run your own virtual fashion boutique. And in addition to “stocking” labels like Banana Republic, Tory Burch and DVF, the game has just added several gowns from the 2010 Emmys: Two of our favorites, Sofia Vergara’s Carolina Herrera gown and Keri Russell’s vintage Jean Louis Scherrer Haute Couture dress, are already out, and they’ll release one new dress a day for the next week—we can’t wait to see which gowns hit the virtual “shelves” next!

Check out all of the 2010 Emmys fashion.

Lauren Bush Designs FEED Bags for Gap

Aug 31, 2010 @ 3:28 pm

As a part of FEED Projects‘ new program to support nutrition in America’s schools, founder Lauren Bush has teamed up with Gap Creative Director Patrick Robinson to create an exclusive line of FEED USA bags. Gap will donate $5 for every bag sold to the National School Lunch Program. (Plus, since every school faces its own set of challenges, you’ll get to select which teacher-touted school improvement program your five bucks goes to.) The three styles—the lunchbox, denim bucket bag and canvas tote—will retail from $20 to $40, and will go on sale September 10th as a part of Fashion’s Night Out, though stars like Kristen Bell and Nicky Hilton are already toting them!

Fashion Week Sneak Peek: Tracy Reese

Aug 31, 2010 @ 12:57 pm

Tracy Reese tells us that her Spring 2011 collection is inspired by “effortlessly chic dressing, redefining favorite silhouettes and offering women simple yet sexy looks with a classic TR touch. Sultry elements animate a minimalist approach, like this silky nude blouse and pleat pocket flare pant, creating a sleek, monochromatic moment of confidence and sensuality.”

Check back daily until the first day of fashion week (September 9th) for more exclusive sketches.

Aug 31, 2010 @ 12:33 pm

While most fashionistas were watching the Emmys’ red carpet Sunday night, Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman welcomed a baby girl, India Pearl Weinstein, with her husband, movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. We just love the name. Congrats!

Brian Atwood to Launch More Affordable Shoe Collection

Aug 31, 2010 @ 12:25 pm

Luxury shoe designer Brian Atwood has a cult of celebrity fans, including Victoria Beckham and Rachel Bilson, and now he’s announced that he will design a more affordable collection of covetable heels, B Brian Atwood. The line, which hits department stores next fall, will retail from $200-$500, which is still quite a difference from his regular red carpet stunners—these Weston slingbacks (at left) have a price tag of almost $900! “The cool, East Village girls who have great style are kind of a muse,” Atwood told WWD of the collection’s design philosophy. “Our brand essence is fun. It is lipstick, boys and killer heels.” Sold!

Our Favorite Fall Handbags

Aug 31, 2010 @ 12:22 pm

The following is a guest post from one of our favorite online shopping destinations, Decadestwo.

As you may have gathered form our past few posts, we’ve been getting our fall wardrobes into gear, sourcing fab fur-trimmed coats, chunky knits and sleek styles with hard lines, but we haven’t forgotten fashion’s must-have item: a heavenly handbag. This Louis Vuitton brown Epi ($660, far right) leather messenger bag is an absolute classic—perfect for the contemporary prepster. And you can never go wrong with a Chanel bag—ever. This perforated metallic tote ($2100, top left) offers a baroque take on a traditional Chanel design. We also love the Dynasty-era dazzle of a Judith Leiber crystal clutch ($1250, bottom left). It’s a standout alternative to basic black. For further information or to purchase, please contact lizzy@decadestwo.com. Make sure to check our blog for daily arrivals and news!
