We love a good reason to try a new nail polish–and now we have several. Yesterday we mentioned that Nicole by OPI is launching four shades inspired by our favorite Upper East Side crew—the Gossip Girls, of course. With hues like “Spotted” (a gold-flecked jade) and “Scandals, Secrets and Sparkles” (a shimmering silver), we’re instantly transported to our dream penthouse apartment. But it turns out that’s not the only new tv-themed lacquer collection: Today it was announced that Nailtini is collaborating with Mad Men‘s stylist, Janie Bryant (who also launched a QVC collection), on four shades “inspired by fabrics used in cocktail dresses during the era—velvets, satins and lamés,” according to WWD. There are brown, gold, platinum and irridescent shades named “Bourbon Satin,” “French 75,” “Deauville” and “Stinger,” respectively. Plus, we’ve just heard about Butter London‘s fall line–the brains behind that operation have designed two shades to honor the late, great Alexander McQueen: “Long Live McQueen” is a sparkling gold, and “Bumster” is a dusty neutral that pays homage to the designer’s 1996 collection of low-riding, hip-hugging pants. So that’s ten shades in total–one for each fingernail?

To be honest I was nincgirg at the thought but after a good look at his range I’ve got to admit I really like lots of it. Nice textures, love the juxtaposition of different cultures in each outfit. Fresh!
