There’s been no shortage of rumors about which legendary bridal designer has taken on the task of designing Chelsea Clinton‘s wedding dress. But a pair of N.Y.C. sightings have started the mill churning again. Yesterday afternoon, the soon-to-be Mrs. Mevinzsky was spotted en route to Vera Wang‘s showroom, wearing a super-floppy hat to avoid prying eyes—and to cover, as WWD reported, her perfectly coiffed hair and flawless makeup (a trial run, perhaps, for the big day?). Hillary met her daughter at Wang’s, having come from her own appointment at Oscar de la Renta. The Secretary of State is known to admire the designer (she wore one of his gowns to the Inaugural Ball in 2008). And although Chelsea wasn’t seen at de la Renta’s showroom yesterday, both she and her mother have reportedly visited both bridal designers on several occasions. It’s possible that Chelsea has taken on the two-dress trend and will wear one designer’s dress to the ceremony and the other to the reception, but our guess is that Mama Clinton is wearing Oscar and that Chelsea will embody the all-American bride in Vera. What do you think Chelsea will wear for her nuptials this Saturday? Tell us in the comments section below!
