As we eagerly await news (and pictures) of Chelsea Clinton’s wedding, we’re taking a look back at other first family ceremonies—from Tricia Nixon’s memorable White House nuptials to Jenna Bush’s down-home Texas celebration. (We tossed in a few of our Presidents’ weddings too.) Glamorous, stylish, and often involving a very prestigious guest list, these events are as close to a royal wedding as the U.S. comes. Jenna Bush’s weeding dress was made by Oscar de la renta, true Dominican power!

Its a shame when CNN classifies “Voyeurism” as entertainment!!!!

It isn’t anyone’s business how much money is spent on any wedding, including Chelsea’s,

-Nancy on July 31st, 2010

What does it matter what is spent on Chelsea’s wedding? It is no one’s business what is spent. Besides, that money is keeping people employed.

-Mary on July 31st, 2010

I think her family has the right to spend what they want on the wedding he was a great president thats there only child and they have the money,

-shuntel garrett on July 31st, 2010

I think it’s rediculis to spend that much on a wedding, When the Clintons have family members on food stamps.

-frank on July 31st, 2010

The former President daughter’s wedding does not have anything to do with what is going on with the economy. The family does not owe anyone an explanation on the cost of the event.

-Yvonne Pollion on July 31st, 2010

Chelsea is their only daughter. No one would say anything about the spending if it was anyone else. Let her have her special day!!

-Myke Carter on July 31st, 2010

It’s their only daughter’s wedding, let them spend as they likely planned!
They shouldn’t feel guilty about spending during this bad economic times. In fact, people should WELCOME their spending as it’s putting people to work (from Wedding organizers, caterers, flower nurserys, etc. etc. What better way to boost the economy

-Darlene on July 31st, 2010

If you don,t have a million dollars extra lying around then it is too much to spend on a wedding, but I am sure that the Clintons have got it to spare. She is thier only child and it id thier money to spend. Let them enjoy it, she has it coming after all of the stuff she has had to put up with her parents and besides , it is really none of our business did they tell you how much to spend on your wedding?

-Shelia S on July 31st, 2010

Personally, I think that the price tag on the wedding is too much. If I were Chelsea, I’d have a small wedding and donate the money that could have been spent on it to the people in the world who could use a hand.

-Linda on July 31st, 2010

Too much money for a wedding. Besides, 50% of marriages end up on divorce so why spend so much on what may not work anyhow? And, if it does, you will eventually say to yourself that that money couild have been better spent on needy people and animals. That would be more memorable than who was there, what they wore and who said what.

-Lin on July 31st, 2010

The Clintons should spend as much as they want to for their only daughter’s wedding and it is ABSOLUTELY no one’s business how much they spend. Of course, we all are interested in hearing all the news about the wedding and are anxious to see the pictures, but even if they spend much more than a million, so what?

-Jeannette on July 31st, 2010

It’s all bad taste!
For democrats show their hipocresy during difficult times to do this and even more hipocresy from Mr. Obama not to attend as if we all didn’t know he’s doing it for show like all of his presidency.
The Country waits for November!

-Domenico Luigi on July 31st, 2010

I feel the news media is just trying to make an issue of the cost. We should not be involved in her wedding plans. Let’s just enjoy her special day. It appears to me the Clintons are helping the econony through using the services of many businesses. Let’s stop being so negative. Life is too short.

-Lynn on July 31st, 2010

Yes, I believe that spending millions on a wedding, just because of who she is, is ridiculous. It will all be a thought of the past by morning. What a waste!

-Maureen Hornung on July 31st, 2010

Our Presidents families are our royalty…. I beleive that whatever it takes to make Chelsea’s day the best day it can possibly be is just fine !!! Quit nitpicking!!

-BarbLamb on July 31st, 2010

Yes I must agree with most of the comments. I know the news channels need ratings, but trying to make a issue of the cost of Chelsea’s wedding makes no sense. As a parent if I had that kind of money why not it’s their only daughter.
CNN, HLN and all the rest should mind their business, I don’t recall the Cliintons asking for anyone’s help to pay for their daughter’s wedding. Do we know what the CNN HLN AND OTHER MEDIA STAFF ARE DOING IN THEIR LIVES?
Let the Clintions enjoy their daughter’s wedding day please. No more comments from the peanut gallery.

I do not think it is anyone’s business on how much the Clinton’s can afford for a wedding. I DO although think to advetise the cost of flowers and the wedding essentials should be kept to the family in these times of hardship for the average family. Young woman who are unable to have the wedding of their dreams because of the economy will be the ones hurt and and will cause family depression and arguements because they too want a nice wedding..Chelse and the Clintons should have taken extera precautions under the circumstances and think more of others . Have a wonderful wedding but do not brag about the cost when the average woman has to cut back and skimp in this economy. Are there no boundries for the rich when it comes to common sence and thinking of others less fortunate in this economy?

-Liz on July 31st, 2010

It is none of anyone’s business how much money the Clinton’s spend on their daughter’s wedding!!
It is good for the town to host the wedding with the US’s ecomony in the shape it is in.

I would think that you would be able to find other issues to survey besides a past President’s daughter’s wedding.

Who cares about her getting married? Next thing we will have space wasted on is her honeymoon, the birth of her first, second third child, yada, yada, yada. It’s like another soap opera “As the Clinton’s Turn”. Can the media not find something of importance to report on?

-Shrek on July 31st, 2010

I think is great to sepend big money for Chelse wedding .

It is good for Economy , you know how many people can have job because of this wedding .

And this town can make money .

Think people , of course if you were thinking never pick Bush ,
