Dom Perignon Goes Andy Warhol

Jul 22, 2010 @ 4:51 pm

We love champagne. And we love Andy Warhol. That’s why we’re liking Dom Perignon’s latest incarnation, courtesy of the Central Saint Martins School of Design in London. Warhol was a fan of the fizzy stuff–he was known to sip it at Studio 54. So Dom Perignon commissioned a fresh redesign of their timeless bottle, re-imagining it as something the Pop Art icon would have been thrilled to drink from. The result? A collection of three bottles, each with its distinct label in red, blue or yellow, paying homage to Warhol’s iconic color palette. The bottles won’t be available till October 15th, but we’re keeping our eyes peeled–not that they’d be hard to spot.

Jennifer Aniston: Best-Dressed Traveler

Jul 22, 2010 @ 2:53 pm

We’re not just abuzz about Jennifer Aniston‘s new fragrance, we’re also obsessing over how chic she looks whenever she steps on (or off) of a plane. For her recent trip across the pond, Aniston played things comfortable and smart: She chose to wear multiple soft layers, including a nubby-knit vest that could double as a blanket on an uber-air conditioned flight. Jeans, either in white or traditional denim, are a go-anywhere staple that she never leaves home without. And she also knows how pick the right footwear: By opting for pull-on suede boots, she can easily remove them (and replace them with cashmere socks in flight). Plus, her consistent palette of neutrals allows her to mix and match pieces with ease. It’s official: She’s the best-dressed traveler we’ve ever seen.

Kate Moss Designs for Longchamp Again

Jul 22, 2010 @ 11:40 am

We love a good celebrity/brand collaboration, especially when it involves one of our favorite style icons. Kate Moss has debuted her second collection for Longchamp in a new series of ads shot for her Fall 2010 line. We’re loving the patchwork top-handle bag Moss is carrying above—the multitude of textures and colors is appealing both visually and in a tactile way. Want to see the whole collection? Longchamp.com already has the purses available for your viewing pleasure (but you won’t be able to purchase them until the fall). Plus, we got our hands on exclusive behind-the-scenes photos of Moss in all of her modeling glory. Click through our gallery to see the rest of Moss’s work and other ads.

Katy Perry to Launch First Fragrance

Although we heard rumors that pop star Lady Gaga was debuting a perfume, it turns out that Katy Perry is going to beat her to the beauty counter. Perry’s signature sent, dubbed Purr, was inspired by Perry’s Catwoman stage costume: The cat-shaped bottle has jeweled eyes and metallic accents. The pop star has been taking notes from fellow fragrance-launching celebrities like Beyonce and Kim Kardashian (she admitted to purchasing both star’s scents earlier this year) but it’s Gwen Stefani‘s beauty biz strategy that she aims to emulate the most.  “She is my example of how I want to do things, especially the way she did it with Harajuku Lovers,” Perry told WWD.  After her sugary confection of a video for “California Gurls”, it comes as no surprise that the pop star draws inspiration from “all things edible,” which translates into notes of peach nectar and apple amongst green bamboo, jasmine blossom and creamy sandalwood in her new scent.  Purr will be available exclusively at Nordstrom and nordstrom.com in November.

More Katie Holmes as Jackie O!

Jul 22, 2010 @ 10:46 am

The costumes that Katie Holmes has been wearing while filming The Kennedys have been second to none—Holmes nails the classic icon by pairing a coiffed bob with simple shift dresses in bold colors. And now, we’re getting a sneak peek at the whole “First Family,” including Greg Kinnear as JFK and a mystery baby portraying young Caroline. But our eye always goes back to Katie’s clothes—the wardrobe for the History Channel miniseries is spot on. Too bad we have to wait till next year to see The Kennedys in action. Click through our gallery to see all of the looks, and tell us what you think in the comments below!

Ralph Lauren Sells Fair-Trade Bracelets

Jul 22, 2010 @ 9:58 am

We love any excuse to shop–especially when it’s for a good cause. Enter Indego Africa, a non-profit organization that partners with Rwandan artisans to sell their crafts in the United States. Indego Africa asked women from the Twiyubake Family cooperative to create three different bracelets to be sold exclusively at certain Polo Ralph Lauren stores. The woven bracelets are crafted from banana leaves and are available in three shades: straw, caramel and mixed. We can’t wait to stack these with our Silly Bandz.
