Banana Republic & Mad Men Create Style Guides

Jul 21, 2010 @ 5:40 pm

Just in time for Sunday’s Season 4 premiere, Banana Republic is debuting their second set of Mad Men-inspired style guides, making it a piece of cake to channel your inner Joan or Betty (and help your boyfriend look as dapper as Don Draper). The guides, in stores today through August 11th, feature Banana Republic looks that can take you from the office to dinner and back again, all with that covetable ’60s twist. “Banana Republic is known for its versatile fashions, with modern takes on the 1960s icons like the pencil skirt, cardigan and suit,” Jack Calhoun, president of Banana Republic, said. In addition, Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant and Banana Republic Creative Director Simon Kneen will bring the guides to life on video blogs that you can watch on their Facebook page.

Justin Timberlake & Mila Kunis Are Friends With Benefits

Jul 21, 2010 @ 3:16 pm

Spotted: Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake having a laugh in N.Y.C. on the set of their new film, Friends With Benefits. The adorable duo are just two members of the star-studded cast, which also includes Natalie Portman, Emma Stone, Ashton Kutcher and Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez. Kunis looked perfectly chic in a tiny floral-print tee, black skinny jeans and killer heels, while Timberlake was as handsome as ever in a classic striped tie and khakis. The film shows the couple attempting to take their friendship to the next  level, but it seems Kunis isn’t Timberlake’s only love interest: A mysterious leggy blond looks like she’s also vying for his heart. Friends With Benefits is slated to hit theaters in January 2011. Click through our gallery to see more behind-the-scenes photos now.

Betty White’s Fashionable Venture

We’ve been smitten with all things Betty White for a while (and can’t wait for our 2011 calendar), and now we can wear her sweet mug if we so choose: The former Golden Girl can be seen on several tees as well as hooded sweatshirts with built-in, washable headphones courtesy of Jerry Leigh Apparel. White isn’t the mastermind behind the creations but has sanctioned them, and a portion of all proceeds will benefit the Morris Animal Foundation, where she is a trustee. Although the shirts and hoodies won’t be in stores till August, you can snag one online now.

Dolce & Gabbana Revealed on CNN

Jul 21, 2010 @ 1:19 pm

Runway shows are undoubtedly captivating, but we’re just as interested in what goes on behind the scenes. So we were intrigued by the news that CNN’s cameras followed Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana (above with makeup muse Scarlett Johannson) while the designing duo prepped for their Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 collections in Milan. The resulting 30-minute special, Revealed, just aired—and now you can watch it at your leisure on CNN.com. In the docufilm, the pair—who haven’t been romantically linked in years—confess that they simply couldn’t work without each other. More

Neil Lane Debuts Collection for Kay Jewelers

Jul 21, 2010 @ 1:15 pm

Neil Lane‘s diamond rings are practically synonymous with Hollywood engagements, with stars like Jennifer Hudson and Nicole Richie flashing his elaborate designs. Now he’s making his designs accessible to all by collaborating with jewelry giant Kay Jewelers on a line of star-inspired engagement rings: the 36 unique diamond engagement rings and wedding bands are all priced under $7,799 (a steal when compared to Lane’s boutique rings, which can easily fetch over $100,000!) and feature a variety of stone shapes including round, cushion and pear (his personal favorite). Lane told us he “always wanted to bring [his] designs to a larger platform for all of America to enjoy.” By using past designs for celebrity clients (like Jennifer Hudson’s above) as inspiration, Lane created “a luxurious, glamorous experience. Every girl wants a pretty ring!” We couldn’t agree more. Check out the whole collection on Kay.com now.
