Clueless Turns 15: What’s Your Favorite Scene?
Jul 20, 2010 @ 12:18 pm
Can you believe it’s been fifteen years since writer/director Amy Heckerling released Clueless? The film, which was a comic, high-school-set retelling of Jane Austen’s Emma, set a ton of trends: Just last month, we broke the news that Calvin Klein Creative Director Francisco Costa was re-issuing Cher’s simple white Calvin Klein dress. Who can forget the scene (excerpted above) in which Cher, played by Alicia Silverstone, defends her ongoing virginity with the memorable line, “You’ve seen how picky I am about my shoes, and they only go on my feet.” Or when she pondered, of a potential suitor, “He does dress better than I do. What would I bring to the relationship?” Watch the trailer and be sure to tell us which scene is your favorite in the comments section below.

my favorite scene (amongst many favs!) is when Cher is getting ready to go out with the new guy at school, Christian, (I think that’s his name) and he’s standing in the doorway of their living room where the dad is and dad says, “you’re not going out like that!”, speaking of her short-short dress, and she says, “no, daddy!” then puts on the little sheer cover over it and is out the door. But…not before dad says something to Christian like, “I’ve got a .44 w/your name on it….!” LOL Then he says something about him being too late for the Rat Pack! LOL
this is one of my favorite movies and is on my list of dvd’s to have in my home library collection. it is so a classic in my book because of the way it made me feel. I’m over 40 y/o and still love it.
