The secret’s out: Those stars who look like they rolled out of bed (or yoga class) glowing and gorgeous? Not necessarily so. “There’s a relaxed feel to this season’s beauty,” says makeup artist Emma Kotch, who works with Kate Bosworth. “But don’t think it’s easy. It’s actually more challenging because you have to soften everything.” We asked pros (and one of the stars herself) to describe how they create a bare-faced effect (from foundation to mascara) on four actresses with a range of skin tones. Great post! Natural looks are great for summer and these are beautiful.

It seems like in some way or another a “natural” look is always in style, but I found these tips especially interesting since I’ve been doing this just lately–must’ve been a summer “urge!” I own the Copacabana NARS stick — it’s incredible. I have also been doing natural/beige lips with a hint of gloss. My current method is a natural color lip liner (MAC has one called “spice” that is really popular) and then using Revlon’s 001 Nude lipstick color. Then a natural gloss. It seems like beige lips with no gloss just looks corpsey :P Anyway I love that the look I’ve been “sporting” is indeed “on trend!”
