Blake Lively’s Favorite New Orleans Shopping Haunt

Blake Lively has been busy filming her new flick Green Lantern in New Orleans, but the budding fashionista still found time to squeeze in some French Quarter shopping. DesignerSocial.com, a new Web site from former publishing executive (and InStyle staffer) Francine Davis Ballard, which buys and sells high-end consignment accessories, just opened a showroom in New Orleans and Lively was one of its first customers! With her pooch Penny in tow, the Gossip Girl star shopped privately, purchasing several Indonesian vintage purses as well as a Chanel handbag. Ballard says, “In my opinion, she has impeccable taste and personal style.” We couldn’t agree more!

Harrison Ford Weds in Wranglers

And the groom wore jeans! Harrison Ford wed longtime girlfriend Calista Flockhart on June 15th wearing a pair of Wrangler jeans, which fit the “barbecue dress code” perfectly. Flockhart chose a simple no-label white sundress for the outdoor ceremony, which was held at New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson’s estate in Santa Fe. The couple is in town while Flockhart films Cowboys & Aliens, due out next summer. Congratulations to the newlyweds!

Supermodels Get Ladylike in Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton Creative Director Marc Jacobs tapped several of the world’s most famously curvaceous supermodels—including Adriana Lima, Bar Refaeli, Laetitia Casta and Elle Macpherson—to wear his Fall 2010 collection on the runway in Paris last spring. Now he’s booked three more superstars for a brand-new campaign. “This season was a manifesto for beautiful, ladylike clothes,” Jacobs explains. Accordingly, the ads show three beautiful ladies—Natalia Vodianova (left), Karen Elson (center) and Christy Turlington (right)—preening in a vintage-inspired movie star dressing room. The women look stunning in bustiers, 50s-inspired knits and sweeping skirts (and the iconic Speedy handbag is as covetable as ever in new materials like alligator, waxed calf leather and flocked and sequined Monogram canvas). With hair by master stylist Guido and makeup by world-renowned artist Pat McGrath, the three iconic supermodels look effortlessly chic. Stars Fete LOFT Style Studio

Last night, celebrity stylist Nicole Chavez (her first client was InStyle contributor Rachel Bilson) hosted a chic fete for LOFT’s Fall 2010 Style Studio, where she styled three looks. “I wanted to keep it California chic because I am a California girl,” Chavez told us. Kristen Bell and Emmanuelle Chiqri got a sneak peek at the line’s modern architectural shapes, new fabrics (like tweed) and gorgeous feminine floral prints. “I think LOFT has been coming out with a lot of great stuff recently. I love that almost everything is striped and I’m dying to have all the hats,” Bell told us. “There is also a fantastic pair of equestrian over-the-knee boots that I am loving.” Our favorite piece from the collection? Movie star, mother, and now Lancome cosmetics spokeswoman, Julia Roberts continues to evolve and amaze, looking more luminous than ever at 42. “The whole idea of modeling in my 40s is fun and modern,” Roberts told us. “I’m more secure in who I am today. Also, Lancome is a company whose products I have used and enjoyed for a long time.” We went behind the scenes of her Lancome campaign shoot to snag tips from the ultimate, ahem, pretty woman.
