Julia Roberts’ Lancome Ad Revealed!

Jun 15, 2010 @ 3:45 pm

We already told you about iconic “Pretty Woman” Julia Roberts’ collaboration with beauty giant Lancôme. Now, the images from her first campaign for the brand have finally been revealed. She’s looking fresh as ever, with sunny blond locks and her signature full lips, but our eyes were immediately drawn to, well, her eyes. Which comes as no surprise, considering that the ads are designed to sell the new Definicils Precious Cells Mascara. The product features stem cell technology (from Swiss apple extract–nothing controversial!) that claims to grow lashes longer while adding a heavy dose of volume to boot, and it’s set to debut in department stores later this summer. Will you be snagging the $29 “miracle mascara?” Tell us in the comments below!

Megan Fox’s Tiny Waist Secret: Corsets

Jun 15, 2010 @ 10:57 am

Megan Fox will soon appear in the comic book adaptation Jonah Hex, which takes place in the Wild West, but all anyone who’s seen the trailer wants to talk about is her tiny waist. “It’s small,” the star admitted to MTV. With the help of vintage corsets, she explained, “we got it down to about 18 inches.” That, you may recall, is Scarlett O’Hara territory. Megan said she wouldn’t mind if the close-fitting foundation garments made a comeback: “I enjoy them . . .  maybe I’m sick,” she joked. But after hearing that the ones she wore in the film “would leave these deep grooves, these deep indents from the boning in the corsets, for the whole next day,” we’re happy to leave them in the past. The following is a guest post from one of our favorite shopping destinations, Decadestwo.

Call 911: There’s a four alarm fashion fire! We’re heading up to San Francisco and setting up a pop-up shop in Fort Mason ‘s historic Firehouse June 18th or 19th. Christos Garkinos and the Decadestwo team have curated a special collection of pieces for their latest style adventure, hand-picked from the closets of our favorite consigners, such as consigner 4593—a design writer with inimitable style who recently relocated to San Francisco and managed to score some dazzling digs on the infamous Lombard Street. Christos sat down with her for a spot of tea and chatted about East Bay haunts from his former days as a SanFran resident, then they got down to serious business—editing her closet! They found some amazing pieces for the temporary shop including a metallic embroidered Dries Van Noten vest (left), a cropped golden jacket from Matthew Williamson (right), and a Spring 2005 Chanel boucle skirt suit (middle). For further information on the coming pop-up shop, visit our blog now!

See Coco Rocha’s Zac Posen Wedding Gown

Jun 15, 2010 @ 10:40 am

Model Coco Rocha wed interior designer James Conran at an intimate castle-held ceremony in France last week, and we finally got a peek at her stunning custom-made Zac Posen wedding dress. “I walked into the room where Coco was getting ready… I started crying,” Rocha’s best friend Behati Prinsloo told Modelinia.com. ”[The gown] was tight all over her body all the way to her knees, then it had this extreme mermaid tail at the bottom . . . the material looked vintage.” Congrats Coco, you made a beautiful bride!

Bid On Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” Necklace!

Jun 15, 2010 @ 10:24 am

Remember the geometric statement necklace Lady Gaga rocked in her “Poker Face” video? Now it can be yours. Starting today, you can bid on the Brian Lichtenberg piece on Winnit.com—all proceeds will benefit The Lupus Foundation.  But there’s a catch: As always on Winnit, the prize doesn’t go to the person who places the highest bid; instead, you’ve got to try to guess the lowest dollar amount that no one else will pick. (A tip: $.01 is likely already taken, so you’ll have to get creative. We’re calling dibs on 83 cents.) You’ll have to kick in $1 to compete, but if you’re the winner, you may be able to own a piece of Gaga’s iconic style for only dollars more.

A New Book Dishes On Stars’ Summer Camp Days

Jun 15, 2010 @ 9:19 am

Before American Idol there was Stagedoor Manor, a performing arts camp in New York’s Catskills that since 1970 has nurtured the talent of stars-to-be such as Natalie Portman, Robert Downey Jr., Mandy Moore, and Zach Braff. Theater Geek, a new book by author Mickey Rapkin, details the legendary sleepaway camp’s story, and offers plenty of before-they-were-famous dish on Stagedoor alums like Lea Michele. “I never had a lead at Stagedoor,” the Glee star told Rapkin. “I was in a revue, Side by Side by Sondheim. I also sang the ‘Pinball Wizard’ solo in Tommy. My last summer, I was supposed to be one of the friends in Sweet Charity, but I left to do a workshop of Spring Awakening in New York.” As Rapkin writes, “One couldn’t exactly blame her. ‘It was a real job,’ she says. And? ‘I made money.’ AND? ‘And I got to play the lead.’” Get more scoop on the star-creating camp in Theater Geek, in bookstores now.
