We’re pretty much obsessed with anything that’s both chic and technical for summer (think: boat shoes that can be worn while sailing and shopping, cargos that work for hiking and hitting the town). Now, thanks to J.Crew, we can buy a beach bag that’s fit for a double life, too. The retailer has teamed up with Angela Adams—an artist and designer known for her ruggedly beautiful housewares and handbags, shaped by her upbringing on the coast of Maine—to create three brightly-colored totes “inspired by our combined love of summer and the ocean.” The bags are constructed from recycled boat sails, some of which have been around the world, and they’re completely water-resistant—durable enough to withstand sun and sand, but stylish enough for lunch on the dock. The bag retails for $198 and is available at jcrew.com.

Look to the original – Sea Bags
It’s a Maine company and the bags are less expensive than these

“The bag retails for $198″? Give me a break! Order a classic from L.L. Bean for a fraction of the price.

Totally agree with Sara, this is a clear Sea Bag knockoff and I’m very disappointed that Angela Adams would do this… get the REAL deal and get a Sea Bag! Amazing Maine company and amazing products.

TOTAL SEA BAGS OF MAINE RIP OFF!! Sorry, but that called for all caps. Seriously people, if you’re going to steal a product design, don’t make it so obvious. Check out the original, folks! …..And for less money.

Anyone who pays $198 for this tote is a fool. You could buy 10 decent totes for the price of one of these. You could buy a cuter vinyl or waterproof bag at REI for much less. Or a nice hotel room at the beach and use a recyclable bag for free.
