Becki Newton’s Back to TV!

Fans of Becki Newton‘s devilish turn on the dearly departed show Ugly Betty needn’t fret: The actress will be back this fall in a new NBC comedy called Love Bites, playing a star-crossed single girl at the center of a revolving cast of love-lorn characters. (The pilot episode features appearances by Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jason Lewis, Craig Robinson, and many more.) The show was created by former Sex And The City scribe Cindy Chupack, so perhaps it’s not too much to hope that it will feature a little bit of that earlier series’ trademark wit—and, most importantly, style!

Gemma Arterton On Kissing Jake & Her Style Icons

Much ado has been made about Jake Gyllenhaal and his perfect pecs in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, but we couldn’t take our eyes off his leading lady, Gemma Arterton. “I took an intensive horseback riding course and I had to learn how to fight,” the British actress said, when asked how she got fit for the action-adventure flick. “My everyday workout includes the trampoline and the power plate.” Arterton’s regimen was essential when it came time to don her character’s midriff-bearing ensembles, but it’s still paying off as she rocks the red carpet on Prince of Persia‘s global press tour. “For me, it’s about being European, wearing things that make me feel good and always being a bit cheeky,” said the 24-year-old, who glittered in Valentino (right) at the London premiere and channeled her inner goddess in Elie Saab (left) last night in Hollywood. “My style icons are Elizabeth Taylor, Jane Birkin and Catherine Deneuve.” Once we’d discovered that Arteron is inspired by ’60s chic, we only had one more question; Is Jake a good kisser? “Yeah, he’s alright,” she laughed.

Lea Michele Sings “My Favorite Things”

Dove Hair Care has given Glee star Lea Michele something to sing about: She performs the classic “My Favorite Things” (from The Sound Of Music) in her first TV spot for the beauty brand. The clip doesn’t officially debut until May 25th, but you can check out an extended version of her show-stopping performance above, and take a behind-the-scenes look at the shoot after the jump. “Entertaining continues to be one of my favorite things, ” says the very on-message Michele. “Dove has become one of my new favorite things: I can focus on performing, rather than worrying about my hair!”

Lady Gaga To Intern For Philip Treacy?

At just 24, she’s already a world-famous pop star and international fashion icon, but Lady Gaga isn’t the sort to rest on her laurels: Instead, the trend-setting singer hopes to spend her summer in London, working as an intern for the couture milliner Philip Treacy. Gaga’s frequently worn Treacy’s one-of-a-kind headpieces, which are remarkably well suited to both award show stages and red carpets, but the impetus for her hoped-for gig appears to be a desire to create her own super-artistic hats. The internship isn’t 100% confirmed, but it would be amazing to see Gaga follow in the footsteps of fellow celebrity interns Sean Avery (who sat in at Vogue) and Kanye West (who’s worked for both Louis Vuitton and the Gap). We’d love to see what kind of crazy toppers she’d come up with, and the high-fashion experience would doubtless be a nice feather in her cap.

Salma Hayek Pinault’s name is more of a mouthful these days, but it’s just because the actress, who has a 2-year-old with her fashion executive husband Francois-Henri Pinault, is fully embracing family life. “It was [daughter] Valentina’s request. I didn’t think about it until she brought it up,” Hayek Pinault told InStyle. “We were shooting a film, and she saw my chair with my name on it. She said, ‘What does it say there?’ And I said, ‘Salma Hayek.’ And she said, ‘What about Pinault? Why not Pinault?’ Because [in Paris] people say ‘Madame Pinault.’ I said to myself, ‘This is who I am now. I’m starting a whole new life. I’ve never been happier. Why shouldn’t I share it with the people who have been supporting me my whole career, who have been with me since the beginning?’” The usually private star let us in on the details of her blissful home life, including the perks of being married to a man who’s really into fashion.
