She’s appeared in only a few English-language productions—most notably 2004′s Bride and Prejudice and last year’s The Pink Panther 2—but Aishwarya Rai, a former Miss World, is a huge star in her native India. And the Bollywood beauty certainly looked the part while in Cannes to debut Raavan, the new film in which she costars with her husband, Abhishek Bachchan. She kicked off a weeklong series of chic, elegant appearances by wearing an ice blue Elie Saab Couture gown for the premiere of Robin Hood. The next day, she posed for cameras in an Emilio Pucci print dress and Christian Louboutin wedges before changing into a black sequined Armani Prive gown for the premiere of On Tour. Rai dazzled once again in magenta Gucci at the Il Gattopardo screening on Friday, and yesterday, she introduced Raavan in a very chic off-the-shoulder Gucci LBD. We’ll look eagerly forward to seeing her on future red carpets after her impressive showing at Cannes!

Watch Sienna Miller’s Piaget Shoot

May 17, 2010 @ 5:58 pm

Piaget has just released behind-the-scenes footage of Sienna Miller’s shoot for the new campaign for Piaget Possession, and the clip offers an inside look at the actress as she poses in New York for renowned fashion photographer Raymond Meier. Miller’s naturally gorgeous, of course, but she’s quick to credit the line’s classic gold chains and platinum bracelets with increasing her glamour quotient: “The jewelry, of course, is the star of the show,” she says. “It’s very classic but funky too. I think nowadays everyone has such great style so jewelry can really make [a look] more individual.” Watch the footage from Miller’s fabulous photo session above!

Suri Tells Tom Cruise What to Wear

May 17, 2010 @ 12:43 pm

On Friday’s episode of Oprah, Tom Cruise revealed that his fashionista of a four-year-old daughter, Suri—already well known for her extensive collection of adorable dresses, sparkly headbands, tiny handbags, and even heels—not only selects her own ensembles but also offers style advice for the rest of the family. “Whatever she wants to wear, she wears it,” the actor said, sounding both tickled and proud. “I’m not going to tell her different—she’s got great taste. She tells me what to wear!” No word on whether Suri picked out the relatively staid black-on-black outfit he wore that day. Watch the entire clip on thedailybeast.com.

Coquettish minidresses, Barbarella hair, florals, ruffles and pastels were juxtaposed with French New Wave stripes, gamine trench coats and androgynous suits. Shop Tom Ford’s Latest: Lipstick!

May 17, 2010 @ 12:15 pm

Tom Ford, the fashion-designer-turned-filmmaker, is set to conquer the beauty counter next with his first-ever foray into makeup. The brand-new Private Blend Lip Color Collection boasts a dozen super-rich shades (three of our favorites, at left, are the nearly-nude Vanilla Suede, red Cherry Lush, and the dusty mauve Moroccain Rouge), and is formulated with rare, exotic ingredients like chamomile flower oil, Brazilian murumuru butter and soja seed extract for a smooth feel and flawless finish. These lipsticks definitely qualify as a splurge at $45 a pop, but is that price really too much to pay for a premier pout? We think not. As Ford himself says, “There’s no more dramatic accessory than a perfect lip.” All twelve tints are available now at NeimanMarcus.com.
