The most stylish of film festivals opened today as two legendary brands celebrated historical red-carpet moments, one a final, and one a first. At the Cannes premiere of Robin Hood, Cate Blanchett wore a stunning black and silver eagle-emblazoned gown from the late Alexander McQueen‘s Pre-Fall 2010 collection that the designer personally selected for the actress before his death. And Salma Hayek debuted Gucci’s first-ever couture gown, a bordeaux silk one-shouldered number with deep red crystal embroidery, from Frida Giannini’s Gucci Premiere collection. It’s only Day 1 and the gorgeous looks are already taking our breath away—we can’t wait to see what’s next!

See all the stunning style from stars like Kate Beckinsale and Eva Longoria at Cannes.
